many degrees cooler than clear
glass in hot -weather. Car manufac-
turing engineers report that a
series of tests have revealed that
temperatures at the head and
shoulder location of the rear seat
passengers 'were up to 30 degrees
cooler when the car was equipped
with tinted, heat-absorbing glass.
Clear glass, on the other hand,
allowed interior temperatures to
mount.
The tests also revealed that even
when. a. car is parked in the sun
for .some time the rate of heat
build-up is several times less if
the vehicle is equipped with tinted
