Several Winghtun men who are
lnemhers of the Pine Bleier Boat
Club were up at the lake on St:to-
day for a meeting of their organ-
ization. Plane call for the erec-
tion of a 20:00 foot club house on
the week-end of May 24th. It is
expected that a fleet of 26 boats
will dock at the Pine River Club
• this season.

SPRING BEAUTY—
This is a fine time of year to
take a drive around town: At many
homes there are beautiful displays
of tulips and hyacinths, These are
about the first of the fine displays
of flowers which add so much to
the appearance of Wingham pro-
perties through the warm months.
President Jack (Irvin called the
meeting to order last Tuesday eve-
ning when members of the Wing-
ham Branch, Canadian Legion,
gathered at the Legion lemne. The
name drawn for the monthly Mem-
bership draw was EL G. Elliott of
Teeswater, but since he was not
present the 'amount will be $45 at
the June meeting.
Secretary John Mattison read
the minutes. Corn. George Brooke
was named to the parks committee,
to represent the local branch of
the Legion. Treasurer William
Hogg gave his report and announc-
ed that the donation the Legion

Brownies Pleased
With Cookie Day
The Wingham Brownlee were
pleased with the results of their
annual ,Cookie Day on Saturday,
when. they sold 600 'boxes of
cookies, their entire stock, About
45 Brownies canvassed the town
both morning and afternoon and
they are grateful 'to all thoee who
supported their cause.
The Kinet'tes served chocoolate
milk at the town hall, where the
girls returned to replenish their
supplies.

Reporting on the activities of the
Public works committee, Council-
lor Nesmith stated that, the condi-
tion of the surface of the main
