Livingstone also in recent years seems to
have developed a penchant for bare skin
and it came out again in a simulated sex
episode between the naked Verezzi and the
gypsy Mathilda.
The question, at least 10 this reviewer
was just what are author and director
trying to say with all this weighty dialogue
and significant staging. There are many
interesting speeches but they don't seem
to add up to any coherent message.
Perhaps though it's just the reviewer that
was dull since the play has been an
unprecedented success for Walker. The
play was recently produced in London
England to rave reviews and has been
optioned by the prestigious New York
producer Joseph Papp. Surely they can't
all be wrong so perhaps it is the reviewer.

A DOLL'S HOUSE ISN'T CHILD'S PLAY
Theatre classics present a problem for
young theatrical companies. Audience
should have a chance to see the classics,
but often young actors aren't ready to
perform them.
For several years now the Road Show
Theatre Company of Guelph has been
accepting the challenge classics provide.
This year the challenge came in the form of
Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House and though
the production was worthwhile, it did show
the problems a young company can have.
The Road Show company is not only young,
it is relatively inexperienced. It's still a
semi-professional company acid the roles in
a Doll's House are challenging for even the
most experienced.
It's hard to know whether the problem
rests with cast. director (Alec Stockwell) or
audience but at least on the evening we
attended. one might think he was watching
a Neil Simon comedy to hear the reaction of
the audience. There are a few lighter
moments to be sure but it seems hardly a
roaring comedy. Karen Woolridge as Nora
seemed a little too flighty in the early
going. though in her later change to a very
determined. suddenly strong lady, she
carne across much better. Christopher Ball
as the unthinking husband seemed just a
little overwhemed by his role.
Still, the young company is to be
congratulated for the courage of taking on
such a challenging play and giving patrons
the opportunity to see a classic play.
Theatre is a place for challenges.

THE EDITOR: I enjoy The Village Squire
very much particularly the "trips" around
Ontario. However I was disappointed in the
one on Elora. It made no mention of the
church of St. John the Evangelist which is a
very historic church and should be visited
by tourists and school parties. Such items
of history rarely make the History books.
but in this case the story touched 3
continents and should be known.

A complete range of beauty care products with Thermal
Plankton from Molitg Les Bains
The Molitg Les Bains spa is specialized in skin treatment and
improvement. A very rich thermal plankton, having'
practically the same composition as the human skin, develops
in its sulphurous water. The thermal plankton from Molitg
Les Bains thus provides the elements necessary to maintain
the skin's balance and youthfulness.
Laboratory tests have proved that the thermal plankton
favours cellular multiplication. It is most efficient because,
owing to its natural origin, the skin assimilates it.
Thermal plankton is used at the spa itself for the treatment of
certain cutaneous diseases; it is a real source of youthfulness
and health for the skin. Furthermore, BIOTHERM has
created a complete range of beauty care products with
thermal plankton from Molitg Les Bains, which are
particularly efficient for face and body care.
