"It's a shame that a bigger place like
Goderich has nothing while a small place
like Blyth has people working to give
something to the public," she said.
NEW SHOPS POPPING UP
'Tis the season to start up business. The
upcoming Christmas rush always seems to
bring a rush of new shops in the area to
offer more variety to the shoppers. This
year is no exception.
St. Marys has seen a general shuffle of
many of its small shops to new location and
it also has a new entry: Trish's Craft
Shop, operated by Trishia Culbert on
Water Street. It offers handmade articles
and is the realization of a longtime dream
for Miss Culbert.
The new shopping plaza boom has also
led to a number of new businesses starting
up. In Listowel three new shops have
opened in a plaza at the north -end of town.
They include Listowel Ceramics Centre,
Teresa's Unisex hairstyling and Toyerama.
Ceramics seems to be the latest growth
area in small shops with stores opening up
around the country from The Friendly
Village Gift Shop in Auburn to stores in
most of the larger towns.
