THE CHEESE HOUSE: 423 Erie St., Stratford.
For a generous luncheon snack, the Cheese
House offers a selection of cheeses and home
cooked meats on a home -baked bun, or "plates"
of cheeses with other fresh fruits or garden
vegetables ($1.50).
For a full repast the "Gourmet Picnic Box"
provides a full meat, with an appetizer of fresh
green vegetables, an entree of rice salad and
glazed cornish hens, a full course of cheese and
crackers, fresh fruits and a pastry. The box
includes plates, a cloth, cutlery, and a bottle of
imported fruit juice.
GOLDEN BAMBOO: A chinese restaurant in
Stratford on Ontario Street that's just grown and
grown over the years. Good Chinese food is the
reason. They also serve Canadian food. Open
11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.
ALI BABA STEAK HOUSE, 1100 Ontario St.,
Stratford. This interesting restaurant has a full
menu specializing in steaks. Approximate price
range of dinner for two is $15 to $30.
Reservations are necessary at 273-0890. Hours
are Monday to Saturday: 12 noon to 1 a.m.;
Sundays: 12 noon to 10 p.m. Here one finds a
very relaxing atmosphere, and good food.

THE OLD PRUNE, 151 Albert St., Stratford,
specializes in homemade soup, salads, open
faced sandwiches, afternoon tea, home cooked
hot evening meals. Phone 271-5052 for
reservations, but not usually necessary. Dinner
for two ranges from $10 to $20. They are closed
on Monday; open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. other days.
