Summer in Western Ontario provides a wide
variety of theatre face
Anyone who is even mildly interested in theatre in Western
Ontario has little excuse for claiming there is nothing to do this
summer.
At the five major summer theatres in the area there are no Tess
than 38 professional theatre productions this year, meaning that
to take in all plays one would be on the go virtually all summer
long.
The variety too is impressive, from the classics of Shakespeare
and Chekhov at Stratford to Neil Simon at Grand Bend to
Godspell at Petrolia, to original Canadian plays at Port Stanley
and Blyth.
It would be impossible in one issue to give indepth reports on
all the plays at all the theatres but in this issue we hope to fill you
in a little on what's happening this summer in theatre in Western
Ontario.
