RENE MAGRITTE'S SURREALIST NAT-
URALISM: The last of three exhibitions
organized by the Gallery/Stratford in the
series "Themes in Digest". These
exhibitions, which were funded by a
special grant from National Museums of
Canada, have each been built around one
or two important works that have been
borrowed from other public collections. In
the case of this final show, the Gallery has
borrowed Rene Magritte's The Birthday
from the Art Gallery of Ontario.
Until May 14 at the Gallery/Stratford.
DESIGN IN STRATFORD: Merchandise,
architecture, clothing, furniture and
industrial products are all featured in
Design In Stratford. The exhibition is a
sampling of good-looking items of design
in the city. The thesis is that good design
can be found anywhere and therefore all
the items are accessible to the general
Stratford public. There is also a corollary
and that is a lot of bad design exists as
well.
To May 14, the Gallery/Stratford.
