Solid scripts
mean Canadian
movies finally
hit it big
For years the Canadian movie industry
has been the despair of those who cared
about such things (which definitely didn't
include the majority of Canadians who'd
rather watch Hollywood movies anyway).
The quality and the success of the movies

thought Canadians were capable of
producing movies equal to other countries

Suddenly. or at least it seems suddenly.
all that has changed. Canadian movies are
doing well both with critics and audiences
coast to coast. Where once Canadian
movies didn't even make it into most movie

closed within a few days, today they are

polished product: bigger budget, better
directors, better scripts.
And most of all it is probably the latter
reason that Canadian movies are taking
off. Canadian producers have finally
discovered what movies are taking off.
Canadian producers have finally discover-
