advantages of economy- and nutrients for using wild plant life in
her cooking.
"I just find a sense of accomplishment in being able to serve
things that I know nobody else can go to the store and buy,"
Mrs. Garrett said.
Mrs. Garrett buys very little fruit except for peaches in the fall
and she will also buy things that her family is fond of but mostly
she sticks to her own resources freezing dandelion crowns,
fiddleheads and she even freezes watercress for soup.
With three books to her credit, a beautiful house in the
country and a creativity all her own, Mrs. Garrett bears the mark
of a successful woman. ❑
