STRATFORD FESTIVAL: On the Festival

ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL is being
performed on the Festival Stage for the
first time since the beginning of the
Festival in 1953. It is a comedy which
examines the workings of love and pride in
human nature against a background of

RICHARD III: The play which opened the
Festival's first year in 1953. Shakespeare
gives frankness, psychological insight and
wit into the character of Richard III. It is a
play in which the workings of power and.

powerful struggle of will between the
aristocratic Miss Julie and her manservant,
a tale in which victory and defeat are
equally ambivalent. This drama probes the

THE GUARDSMAN: A comedy of jealousy
and obsessiveness as an actor tries to
discover the faithfulness of his actress wife
with unexpected results. Set in Vienna at
the turn of the century the play subtly
explores emotional needs and responses.

Ciderfest will be held at Van Egmond
House, Egmondville near Seaforth on
Sunday, Oct. 2. Deomonstrations of cider
making, honey extraction, butter churning,
rug making and violin making. Displays of
antique quilts, Egmondville pottery. Sale
of apple cider and homemade jams, jellies
and candles and fresh produce.
