The result, he said, was an impressive room, 20 feet wide by 40 feet long with a great vaulted ceiling 40 feet high He could see visions of a great baronial dining room, he remembers But the space was needed too much elsewhere so reluctantly, the floor went back in Now there are three levels in the 40 foot height, with a preparation kitchen in the basement, the main kitchen on the main floor, and a quiet little dining area hidden away like a loft above the kitchen The room which still isn't completely finished is furnished with large replicas of antique tables made by Auburn craftsman Ernie Niblock. The room can be used as over flow for the restaurant in the summer and has become a gathering place for Festival actors.
