Village Squire, 1974-12, Page 29down, had trouble finishing. • For dessert the lady had a small portion of ice cream and the gentlefnan overlooking the list of more exotic meringues, settled for familiar apple pie. The pie, however, was far from the apple pie familiar to people eating in most restaurants today. It tasted as if it actually had apples in it. The bill for the whole meal came to just under $20 but this included two drinks. In all, the bill wasn't that much higher than many so-so restaurants in this day when even a hamburger and chips is a major expense. A small humourous incident illustrates one of the things that makes The Queen's just a little different than our ordinary restaurant. A lady nearby was engrossed in a lively conversation with the other members of her party and left her partly finished salad at one side. The waitress, thinking she had finished with it, took it away. A few minutes later the lady noticed her salad missing and asked the waitress about it. The waitress apologized and offered to supply a replacement. The lady agreed but asked if the spinach could be omitted and the waitress complied. A little thing, but one of the many little things that add up to make The Queen's a member of a select group of really enjoyable dining spots in the Huron Perth area. 0 Dining listing for Huron -Perth -Bruce area Because of steadily rising restaurant costs it is no longer possible to classify our listing according to cost of a dinner for two. Instead a system of pricing will indicate the approximate cost of meals such as: $$ inexpensive, $$$ moderate or $$$$ higher cost. TRIPLE K RESTAURANT It's been a year now since Kay Hesselwood opened her little restaurant on Huron County Road 25 on the southeast edge of Blyth and the number of cars in the parking lot at about any time of the night or day can tell you something about the quality of the food.
