THE BEDFORD HOTEL
For very special events, The Bedford in
Goderich has always been a place to go for a
celebration. Our reviewer found its food a
delight and the atmosphere to match. The
dining room is open for luncheons from noon
to 1:30 p.m. on Monday through Saturday
with smorgasbord on Tuesday noon. Through
the week dinner is served from 6-7:30 p.m.
with a special smorgasbord on Wednesday
evening. Friday and Saturday dinner hour is
from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday the smorgasbord
is from 5-7 p.m. The dining room is licenced.
THE BLUE BARN MOTEL
AND RESTAURANT
Long known for its cuisine the Blue Barn,
north of Listowel has become one of THE
places for dining out. The specialty of the
house is wiener schnitzle or pork tails or spare
ribs. The dining room is open from 7 a.m. to
7 30 p.m. It is not licensed.
GOLDEN BAMBOO
A Chinese restaurant in Stratford on Ontario
Street that's just grown and grown over the
years. Good Chinese food is the reason. Open
11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.
WINDSOR HOTEL
Stratford's Windsor Hotel offers everything
from lobster to frogs' legs to roast beef. The
air-conditioned diningroom is open for
breakfast, lunch, dinner and after -theatre
snacks, seven days a week. There is also
entertainment, and a wide selection of wines
for your choice.
LIMELIGHT RESTAURANT AND TAVERN
Located directly across from Stratford's old
city hall, this steakhouse offers steaks, chops,
chicken and spareribs, with wide menu
selection. Licensed.
THE MILL
The old Woolen Mill at Benmiller near
Goderich has been converted by London's
Ivey family into an exclusive country inn.
You'll enjoy dinner there if you don't go just
before payday. (best figure on at least 525.00
per couple) as the old building has been made
into a very special place to dine. No children.
Shirt and tie only.
RED PUMP
The Red Pump has recently re -opened in
Bayfield adding yet another good eating place
in the little village. It's a semi -gourmet
restaurant with only fresh meat used for steak
and filet mignon and the other dishes on the
menu. Open 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Not
licensed.

the Queen's offers excellent food in the
diningroom which is open for dinner from 5-7
p.m. by reservation only. There is also a
luncheon from 12-1:30. Licensed.
PICKWICK STEAK HOUSE
On Wellington Street in Stratford specializes
in charcoal broiled steaks. Unlicensed.
VICTORIAN INN
You can have frogs' legs, lobster tails, veal
cutlet or filet mignon and other.varied meals
at this Stratford diningroom. Dinner 6-10
p.m., Lunch, 12-2. Licensed.
DRAMA RESTAURANT
Steaks, shishkabob and fish are featured at
this eating place on Market Place in Stratford
which is open 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on weekdays
and until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
ACROPOL
If you like Greek food, the Acropol is the place
on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are
also steaks, chops, chicken and spagetti. It's
open 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. except Sundays when
it's 7-12.
COMMODORE
Chinese and Canadian Food are featured at
the Commodore. It's licensed. Open 11 a.m.
to 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday, until 2
a.m. on Friday and Saturday and until 9:30 on
Sunday nights.
