This month
Are you a book hound? Are you one of those persons that just
can't beat the urge to go into any book shop you see?
Well, if you are, you'd be able to enjoy one of the best shops in
the nation right at home: Fanfare Books in Stratford. We talked
with Ellen Stafford this month with a story on her shop.
The holiday time is approaching and there is so much to do its
hard to keep track of it all. You'll -find a wide selection of activities
in Around Town this month. Two major events you won't want to
miss on the July 1 holiday weekend are the Mitchell Centennial
celebrations and the old home week in Lucknow.
Artists are often idealistic people who have no idea of how to be
practical. It an be a fatal fault for one trying to make a living at
art, particularly in this area. Jim Marlatt is one artist who has
been practical enough to beat the odds and work only at art.
SUBSCRIPTION CONTEST:
Beginning next month you are likely to be having little
knuckles knock on your door selling subscriptions to Village
Squire and details for interested youngsters are included inside.
If someone approaches you for a subscription, make sure they
are taking in the contest by asking for their special identification
card and make sure they give you a special Village Squire receipt
for your money.
We hope you'll co-operate with these youngsters and they with
you.
