Small town amateur theatre...dull...non-
talented...shabby looking...right?
Well, few who have seen. the Festival
productions produced in Goderich the last two
years would agree. The first Festival
production in 1973 really wowed most
observers, and 1974's production just over
was another big hit.
The moving force behind the productions is
Roni Zonneveld who moved to tiny Benmiller
outside of Goderich a few years ago and
brought a good deal of musical and stage
experience with her. She was responsible for
putting together the big variety show that
brought large crowds to the Goderich District
Collegiate Institute on May 2, 3 and 4.
One of the most attention -getting aspects
of the productions has been the costuming.
The costumes have been much more
eleborate than anything seen in Huron county
in recent years and drew raves from the
audience, especially last year when they took
the audience by surprise.
For both those who took part and those who
took it all in, Festival '75 can't come too soon.
