What is it?
That's probably what you wondered when you pic-
ked up this first issue of Village Squire. What are we?'
Well, we hope Village Squire will accurately reflect
the way of life of people of Huron county. We feel
there is no better life style anywhere. We have many
of the benefits of urban living such as good shopping,
good housing excellent recreational facilities, yet we
have the good things of rural living, lots of space and
plenty.of clean air, and we have Lake HurDn on our
doorstep.
We're here to tell the story of Huron living, to give
the in-depth coverage the weekly newspapers don't
have time for, and the daily newspapers and radio
and television can't be bothered with. We'll be look-
ing at everything from politics to interesting people,
from arts to history.
Village Squire will also present an opportunity for
writers from this area to see their work in print, whe-
ther in the form of a serious magazine article, a short
story or a poem. It will give photographers a chance
to show their work to a wider audience.
We've tried to see that all business and professional
people in the Goderich-Clinton-Blyth-Wingham-Luck-
now area receive this magazine. We may, of course,
have missed someone who would like to receive it.
An advertisement in this issue will tell such persons
how they can put their name on the list for future
issues.
We hope you will enjoy Village Squire and will
write to us with your comments and suggestions on how
we can make it better.
