Presbyterian WMS
The Presbyterian WAIS had a pot -luck
noon meal for their Christmas meeting on
Wedensday at the church.
Mrs. Ion Bushell, president, opened
with a welcome and a Christmas thought.
The purpose was repeated in unison.
Business and communications followed.
For the rollcall, each member read How
Christmas, Eve is observed in various.

The program in the Gad Tidings was
followed. Mrs, Weir Eckenswiller read the
scripture lesson. Mrs. Don Bushell, Mrs.
Don Robertson and Mrs. Don Reid gave
readings followed by the Meditation, carol
singing and the Benediction. The Cheerio
boxes were packed for the shut-ins.
AWC meeting
The Anglican Chruch Women held their
Christmas meting at the home of Edna
and May Boy"ie on Thursday afternoon and
began with u the singing of Silent Night
followed . by the Members' prayer. The
Prayer Partners' Prayer and the Lord's
Prayer were repeated in unison.
Mrs. Ronald Thacker read the minutes.

were made to St.. Monica House in
Waterloo and to the Sunday School.
The rollcall was "My Favorite
Christmas Carol" and was answered by 11
members.. The election .of officers then
took place anda committee was appointed
to shake the 1987 programs. '
There was a generous response for the
Women's Crisis Centre in Kincardine.
Mrs. Eric Thacker and Mrs, Roy Collins
were in charge of the program and the
scripture was r ad from St. Luke 2 verses
8 to 16. A numb& of readings were given as
well as a quiz on `.`Christmas Traditions".
Carols were sung throughout the meeting.
Mrs. Eric Thacker gave the courtesy
remarks and the meeting closed with the
singing of a carol and grace. A gift ex-
change then took place followed by lunch.

Sympathy is extended to the family of
the late Mrs. William (Elsie) Jackson,
formerly of our village where her
daughters Sylvia and Ec !a grew up. Her
funeral was on Saturday at Kincardine.
Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Stanley of Lucknow
were n''nner guests with Mr. and Mrs, Bill
Burt and Terry.
On Friday evening, the Presbyterian
Sunday School Concert was held at the
church. All of the children did well and
received their awards and Christmas
treats.
The community is sorry to hear that
Mrs. Ezra Stanley underwent major
surgery at . the Wingham and District
Hospital on Monday. Their daughter,
Beverley Tolefson, was up from Toronto to
Londoners visit
Peggy Heffernan and Christine Mac-
Faydden of London visited on the weekend
with Dorothy MacLennan.
The WMS of the Ashfield presbyterian
Church met on Thursday afternoon for
their annual Christmas luncheon meeting
at the home of Mrs. Rhoda MacKenzie in
Lucknow on December 11.
Georgia Mitchell of Kincardine visited
on Monday afternoon with Kae Webster.
Elizabeth Wilkins. of MOunt Forest and
Ken. Wilkins of Ridgetown were home on
• the weekend . with their parents Charles
and Maynae Wilkins.
James Webster and Cecil Webster of
Waterloo and their mother visited ,on.
Saturday with Norma Young in Goderich..
Charles and Mayme Wilkins visited on
Wednesday evening with Stella Irwin and
son Lloyd of Kinloss Township.
'Barry and Betty Jones were in Dor-
chester recently to attend the 45th wedding
anniversary for Betty's mother and father,
Mr: and Mrs. Maurice Hunter.
