Tykes win re -match with Ripley
In a hard-fought and exciting game, the
Lucknow Tykes came out on the winning
end of an 8-3 score in a re -match against
the Ripley Tykes on December 13.
However, the game was much closer
than the score indicated. Lucknow started
strong and broke out to a 5-0 lead. But,
mid -way through the game, Ripley scored
three quick goals to bring them within
striking distance.
In the last three minutes of play,
Lucknow scored three goals to. put the
game out of reach.
Coaches Rivett, Paolin and Hackett
were well pleased with the play of the
Tykes, especially the defense who played a
steady game, continually shooting the
puck into the Ripley zone.
Leading the Tykes in the scoring depart-
ment was Mark Kerr .with four big goals
( including a gift from a Ripley player).
Congratulations Mark ! Adding singles
were Brent Cameron, Trevor Moffat,
Jonathon MacKinnon and Joan Ferguson.
The Tykes will travel to Teeswater next
weekend to ,play in *their annual Tyke
tournament.
Atom B's post win over Walkerton •
In Lucknow Atom B action this week, the
team posted their second win of the season
against Walkerton 4-1.
Lucknow 4 Walkerton 1 r.
Walkerton scored the first marker of the
game, but that would be all the scoring for
the visitors.
Opening the scoring for the locals was .
Nathan Daer with 3:45 left in the first
period. Only seconds later, the boys had
Walkerton backed into a corner as Jeremy
Brindley dented the twine with, a pass from
Colin Humphrey and Scott Rintoul.
There was no scoring in the second
period, but the boys ,had some good
chances but couldn't capitalize.'
The third period was all Lucknow. The

third goal for the host team was scored on
a nice set-up passing play which resulted
from an end-to-end rush by defenseman
Scott gintoul with assists going to Dean
Tiffin and Nathan Daer. The last goal was
scored by a newcomer to the team Dan
Jones who let a hard wrist shot go from the
blue line.
Other mention goes to both goalies Blair
Bieman and Jeremy O'Neill who made his
debut in net and made some very good
saves. Colin Humphrey, Tammy „Hogan
and Ryan Slotegraaf also played well.
Good game boys! The next game is
against Hanover Canadian Tire at
Hanover on December 20 at 10:30 a.m.
