.Think of it. We spend hours and
hours choosing just the right gifts for
our loved ones at Christmas. We
drive for miles, browse from store to
store, pick the gift that's just right
for sis, dad, mom and all the rest,
cart them home and hide them
away. When we haul them out again,
we wrap them in pretty paper, plop
a simple bow on thein, tape a name
tag next to the bow and that's the
end of that. Good enough, we think.
Then when all the relatives arrive
for Christmas, and everyone's gifts
are set beneath the tree, we .can't
help noticing the gifts with personal
touch. We wonder how sis-in-law
found the time. And where did she
get all her ideas.
While visions of sugar plums
dance in their heads, you can be
creating unique gift wraps for your
loved ones. So cosy up next to the
fire, sip on a glass of egg nog, and
hum along with your favorite
Christmas songs. You'll find the
pleasure will be all yours.
1. Save the trimmings from the
Christmas tree. Cut in small pieces
and arrange on top of your. gift:
Secure greenery with narrow red
ribbon.
2. Instead of using a bow, try a can-
dy cane, suckers, marshmallow San-
ta, or any of the colorful foil wrap-
ped candies available at Christmas.
Children find this an extra special
treat.

it pretty, the recipient of the gift can
use it on their tree next year.
Bazaars and craft sales are gold
mines for such items.

rectangular shaped wrapping paper
can be used in the same or con-
trasting paper.

5. A small round pine cone surround-
ed by nuts can be glued to a wrap-
ped gift for an attractive effect.
Spray snow may be used on the pine
cone prior to gluing.
6. Cinnamon sticks tied with a nar-
row red or green ribbon will dress
any sized gift and add a festive
fragrance to the room.
7. A cluster of artificial poinsettia or
mistletoe can be dismantled and us-
ed to decorate several packages for
Christmas.
8. Last year's Christmas cards can
become this year's nNAme tags for
gifts. Cut the design from the front
of the card, use a paper punch for a
clean hole and tie with a narrow rib-
bon of blue, silver, red or green.
9. Most of us learn how to make
paper cut snowflakes in school. This
Ils an idea that children will enjoy.
Fold a square 4" x 4" (size optional)
piece of paper in half. Fold it in half
again. Now make a fold to form a
triangle. Cut out pieces along folded
edges as desired. Open and you have
a snowflake. These can be made out
of plain white paper or contrasting
wrapping paper.
10. In place of a bow, try inexpensive
cookie cutters to decorate a gift, •
They are attractive as well as useful
for the person on your list who loves
to bake.
11. Wrap a gift in newspaper or
material and dress it with any of the
forementioned accessories. The
results will be a pleasing surprise.
12. Green yarn can be shaped like a
Christmas tree with the help of glue
on the top of a gift. To dress the
tree, glue and roll very narrow
strips of colored felt, 1 to 11/% inches
in length,
