Toys challenge children to pretend and fantasise
Topping many kid's Christmas
wish lists this year are toys they can
play with in a child's world of fan-
tasy and pretend, including super ac-.
tion adventure figures, high-fashion
dolls, cuddly toy animals and novel-
ty fun watches, according to Hasbro,
the world's largest toy
manufacturer.
Adventure figures like the famed
Transformers are especially popular
with boys. The best selling action
playthings of 1985, Transformers are •
expected to remain among the most
popular Christmas toys for boys in

While boys enjoy the fun of playing
adventure, girls will be dressing
their new fashionable dolls in a .
variety of current styles, creating
new storylines, and sharing the fun

This year's news -making high-
fashion doll is Jem, a glittering,
sparkling woman of the '80s who
balances an active, exciting dual
career as a record company ex-
ecutive during the day and the rock
'n roll star of Jem and The
Holograms at night.
