Gertrude Park was admitted to the
Wingliam and District hospital last week
with heart problems. She was first in the
ICU, but has since ben moved to a hospital
room.

• evening for Tom and Mildred Lawlor who
celebrated their 40th anniversary. Con- -
gratulations are extended.
Supper guests with Bill and Marie Park,
Tom and Brad on Sunday were Nell Handy
and Ted and Vicki Henry and Jordan, all of
.Goderich.
Company on Sunday with Margaret
Mole were her granddaughters Darlene
and Lisa Juniper of. London.

sive. Plans in some cities are to help seniors
find others of their own age group with
whom to share accommodations, or to
locate younger persons to help with
household chores, in exchange for a place to
live. -
After the closing hymn and a new Grace,
composed by a former minister from
Goderich, lunch was served, the committee
being Mrs. W.J. Mackay and Jean Dadson.
Agricultural society meeting
The Ripley Agricultural Society held its
monthly meeting on Monday evening Nov.
10 in the Ripley Huron Central School with
president Cecil Sutton and treasurer and
now acting secretary Sheila MacDonald in
charge.
Present were Cecil and Wilma Sutton,
Sheila MacDonald, Marjorie MacDonald,
Evelyn Elliott, Linda Campbell of
Amberley, and „Gordon Patterson. Cecil
called the meeting to order and Sheila read
the minutes of the October meeting. Also
she read a letter of congratulations from the
Ripley village council commending the
Sciciety for their successful fair on Sept. 26 &
27.

Ryan of Kitchener and Tim Gregg of
Chatham, visited with Ron and Gerald
Doiron of Malton over the weekend.
Euchre results
Winner in euchre on Wednesday eyeing
at the Seniors' Centre were: High man -
Gordon Pollock; low man - Art Stewart;
high lady Elsie Dyck and Ila Pollock,
tied. Elsie won the cut. The low lady was
Isabel Kilpatrick. The mystery prize win-
ner was Lois Haggitt.,-
' Lady president Wilma Sutton of Purple
Grove and Ripley, Evelyn Elliott of Pine
River, and Ripley Fall Fair Queen Kerry
Lynne Hunter of the Gth con. west attended
the Grey Bruce District 10 fall meeting, in
Mildmay and they reported on it. Mrs.
Melinda Weber of Neustadt was the first
prize winner in the quilts for District 10. She
gets $25 from Canada Packers. It now enters
their Ontario competition and 'if judged
fir$, there then the company.buys the quilt
for $800. '
It will be on display at the Ont. Agric.
Societies Convention in the Royal -York
Hotel in Toronto in mid-February 1987. Rev.
Bob Rumble will be the luncheon guest
speaker there..
Paisley will host the spring meeting
District40 on Wed. May 28, 1987.
Baked bean dinner a success
Two days later it is Wednesday evening
Nov. 13 and the lady directors of the Ripley
Agricultural Society are gathered again.
headed by president Wihna Sutton they put
on a baked bean dinner followed by card
games in the Huron township hall. They
served a baked bean supper to 85
admissions.
