"The need isn't so dire once the building is up," he commented. Bitton also questions the judgement of the board in building a new arena without including a new arena floor. He said Paisley built a new arena over a relatively new arena floor several years ago when funding for capital projects was plentiful. This year Paisley spent $120,000 to replace the arena floor. At the time the new arena was built, the ministry would have funded 25 per cent of the cost of the floor if it had been included in the project and the difference in cost to the whole project at the time would have been peanuts.
