for annual
Fall Rally

The June meeting of South Kinloss WMS
was held in the church hall with Mrs. Vera
Schmidt as hostess. The vice-president,
Mrs. Leonard Clarke, opened the meeting
with a poem.
A brief report of the Maitland
Presbyterial held at Belmore was given by
Mrs. Ira Dickie. Plans were made for the
Childrfs Rally at Camp Kintail on June
11. The Fall Rally will be a bus trip to Cape
Croker on Sept. 29. The church cleaning
bee will be June 12 at 9 a.m. Lunch will be
served following the evening Anniversary
service. A motion was made that the
September meeting be held at Camp Kin -
tail with Mrs. Leonard Clarke as hostess.
There will be no meeting in July. The.
August meeting will be a special one for
the associate members.
Hymn 60 with the lines, For His Mercies
Aye Endure Ever Faithful, ever sure, was
sung to introduce the well-prepared Bible
study on Endurance, presented by Mrs,
Vera Schmidt. She concluded with - We
must endure hardships and failures with
faith and trust in God. Taking part in the
prayer circle were Mrs. Ted Collyer, Mrs.
Harold Campbell and Mrs. Frank
MacKenzie.
Mrs. Evan Keith for the study on Native
Peoples played the part of Sherry
Theobald, a Metis, who is host of a pro-
gram - Woodsmoke and Sweetgrass•which
has been broadcast weekly from a Win-
nipeg TV station since 1973. In this broad-
cast we heard from Allen Angecomb (Ruth
Buchmeier), a noted Ojibway Indian ar-
tist. He painted the cover of our Study
Book. Another interview was with Eric
Anoee, (Margaret Hamilton) an Inuit who
is a deacon with the Anglican Church of
Canada. He told of the Inuit way of life at
Eskimo Point, N.W. Territories. He was
awarded the Order of Canada.
Mrs John Forster gave a reading, and

the Bible.
The closing hymn was Simply Trusting
Every Day with prayer by Mrs. Harry
Lavis.
Mrs. Schmidt and Mrs. Keith served a
very tasty lunch.
women Involved
new slogan
"Women involved” - a new slogan for
members of The Federated Women's In-
stitutes of Ontario is supported by all 109
branches of the FWIO in the Grey -Bruce
Area.
In summer FWIO branches, districts
and areas plan trips, picnics and special
events. In Bruce County a group of 32
members has just returned from Stafford-
shire, England where they spent two
weeks with WI members there.
June 2, 1986 is Grey -Bruce Area Day at
"The Lee". Seven or eight busloads of
women will visit Stoney Creek and the
home of Erland Lee, a FWIO founder.
Homemade jams, jellies, marmalades and
crafts were donated by each Grey -Bruce
member for sale at "The Lee"
Bruce Centre District will host the 16th
Annual Craft and Hobby Show on Thurs-
day, July 3, 1986 at the Southampton Col-
iseum from 10:00 A.M. - 10:00 P.M.
Homemade lunches and dinners, an ice
cream parlour, door prizes and draws for
an appliqued quilt are extra attractions to
lure visitors. Proceeds are donated to
char'i'ties and used for community
betterment.
On Monday, September 8, some 400
delegates will converge on the Southamp-
ton Coliseum for the first 1 day Fall Con-
ference in the Grey -Bruce Area.
Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and all
displays should be in place prior to that.
President, Mrs. James (Iris) Coyne of
Wiarton will commence the business por-
tion at 9 a.m. This will be followed by a
fashion show in the late afternoon and con-
clude with a 6 p.m. banquet. Members
planning to attend must make lunch and
banquet reservations before August 1.
