A church was built at Zion in 1856 and in 1867 Zion and Hacketts became a circuit. In 1869 the first church was built at Hacketts replacing the log school house, thus making 117 years of continuous ser- vice in a church. In 1878 the church was enlarged and the same year a church was built at Blakes making a three-point charge. In 1901 the first church was replaced by the brick structure that is still used. The present church is now 85 years old. In 1925 church union took place and Hacketts Methodist Church became Hacketts United Church. Name changed in 1969 In 1969 Hacketts church celebrated its 100th anniversary. The same year Zion and Blakes closed and joined Hacketts.
