[James Friel photo] Atoms beat Kalamazoo Lucknow 6, Kalamazoo 3 The Lucknow Atom As hosted a game Saturday morning and won against Kala- mazoo, Michigan. It was a well played game with both sides working hard. Lucknow won 6 - 3 with Clint Murray opening the scoring assisted by Matt Drennan. Chris Stevenson scored 30 seconds later unassisted. Vince Sticklend scored the third goal assisted by defence - man Terry Stanley. mazoo scored twice making it a 3 - 2 game, but Chris Stevenson scored once more assisted by J us'i.n Murra Vince Sticklend scored again assisted by def nce..,, man Donnie Cuillerier, Another goal for Chris Stevenson assisted by Rob Crich gave him a hat trick for the game. Clete Dalton donated the prize money for the players of the game. Matt Dennehy received the player of the game prize for Kalamazoo and Chris Stevenson for Lucknow. The prize for Chris was $5 American and a five dollar Canadian bill for Kalamazoo. Clete Dalton said, "It is the price you have to pay to be an American". The team venturedto Clinton Saturday afternoon and received a thorough beating by Clinton with a score of 8 - 1. Chris Stevenson scored Lucknow's lone goal, assisted by Justin Murray. Midgets playoff drive ends Teeswater 7, Lucknow 3 The Lucknow Midgets playoff drive came to a shattering halt on Sunday in Teeswater as they lost their third straight game and the series to Teeswater. In last Tuesday's match in Teeswater, the Lucknow team managed a little better start although the edge ,was clearly in Teeswater's favour. Teeswater scored twice before Lucknow managed a power play goal by Andy Grazier from Murray Houghton and Jeff Walden and the period ended 2 ' 1 Teeswatcr. In a, second period blitz about the 10 minute mark Teeswater scored four goals in a little over two minutes to salt away the game. Lucknow added a power play marker by Scott Hackett from Chris Irwin and John Vander\cldc in the second and another b`' Murra\ Houghton from Brad Priestap and (Jraiier in the third hut at the hell the score was - .3 Teeswater. Teeswater 4, Lucknow 2 Sunday's match -up was the best contest of the series. Teeswater scored first on a power play but Lucknow came back on a goal by Scott Hackett from Houghton to tie the score at 1 - 1. Early in the second, Lucknow took the lead on a power play goal by John Vandervelde from Priestap but Teeswater- stormed back to tie the score in Tess than two minutes and, late in the period, went ahead 3 - 2. Although the Lucknow team had most of the scoring chances in the third, they just couldn't score. Teeswater scored the only goal of the period with just 1:41 left on the clock. At the bell, the score was 4 - 2 Teeswater and they had the series in three straight games. Congratulations to the Teeswater team.
