Try 'barbecue sauce
on your turkey
First of all I get a big, fat juicy
turkey. Then I'd help pluck its
feathers. Well we all know about
that. Then I would stuff the turkey
with bread to make dressing. Oh,
did I forget to tell you about the
garlic on the dressing. You also add
some salt and pepper and then I
would put it in the oven for about
21/2 hours. Then 1 would take it out
and there you have it folks a nice
hot juicy turkey and you can put
some barbecue sauce with it. (so-
rry,no name)
In this celebration without stop, we'd like to start...
by saying thanks for all your kindness and support.

There's no better time df the
year to say thanks and wish
you all a joyous holiday.
Traditions vary in each househctd
Some traditions at my house are
that every year mom buys me,
Joelle, and Yolanda a new
Christmas ornament for the
Christmas tree. Another tradition at
my house is having a fondue every
year.
My favorite tradition isopening
our presents on Christmas Eve.
That is important to me because it
is a very happy time with my
family. It is a time whcn the whole
family can sit down and be together
when usually every day everybody
is bt>tsy.
This Christmas it won't be as
much fun because we have to go to
Kitchener and we won't be able to
make it home in time for our own
Christmas. But it will still be good.
One other tradition, one of my
favorite's is setting up an Advent
wreath and lighting .the candles.
Another is that mom buys us a 25
day count down chocolate treat.
The one thing to remember is that
Christmas is the birth of .lcsus in
the manger who came to redeem
mankind.

Christmas traAltions at our house
are that we always put up our tree
in the first week of December. The
second traditionis making pies and
rum balls, a tradition for a long
time in our family.
On my dad's side each year we
pick out names from a can, and we
buy a present for the person we
pick. We always have on the Potter
sidea week or two before
Christmas.
Oh, one more Christmas tradition
is the one when we open one
present a very small one just one.
This Christmas were going to our
aunt's and uncle's on Christmas
Eve to bpxing Day.
Adam Potter
Grade 6, LDCS.
We have lots of traditions atlour
house. We usually set our
Christmas tree up three weeks
before Christmas day.
On Christmas Day we usually go
to my grandma's and grandpa's in
Strathroy. When wedo go there, all
my aunts and uncles are there.
The day before Christmas we
usually go to my grandma's. We
have our Christmas dinner there and
open our presents on Christmas
Eve.
On New Year's Eve we wait and
wait until 12 o'clock and while we
wait we play games.
,Sometimes on Christmas Day we
just stay home and go to church
and hear the story of the birth of
Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. We also
go to the candlelight service at our
church. When we're there all the.
advent candles are lit and the big
candle in the middle of the wreath
is lit, and the Christmas story is
read.
I like Christmas because our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ was born in
Bethlehem.
Matthew Jurjens
Grade 6, LDCS.
At our house we open our
presents on Christmas Eve. We also
take a "Winter walk," and a
"Christmas Light Tour." We go to
two family reunions; one on Boxing
Day and one on Christmas Day.
We pick names to see who we
give a gift to.
Grandpa . always tapes our
reunions, We sing, a lot and we
have a big turkey dinner. Then, for
desert, we have Grandpa's special
rhubarb with ice cream on top. We
pray together and watch movies.
We also go to different Christmas
parties, like our church party. Ex-
tend -a -Family, etc. We also have a
family Christmas tree party when
we put it up. We have a fun time at
Christmas.
Dan Luymes
Grade 6, LDCS.
At our house we eat supper, then
.go for a walk and open our
presents. When we open 'our
presents we get this plate and we
eat crackers, slices of .sausage. and
'cheese. I . also forgot that we play
games too. We have candy too.
My aunt Sandra gives us treasure
hunts except we get candy. instead.
We also get stocking stuffers.
Sometimes I get baseball cards
because I collect them. We get
candy and a lot of things.
Our Christmas is real funat'our
house.

A tradition that our family always
does is everybody gets someone
else's name. We buy a gift. then at
Christmas Eve we go to our
grandpa's house and we give the
present to the person whose name
we got. Then we open the present.
On .Christmas Day we all sit
around the Christmas tree and open
the presents one at a time. We have
a Christmas dinner. Our grandpa
comes to our house. We all sit
around the table, we pray, then we
eat. Then we play with our toys and
we have a jolly good Christmas.

The traditions that we have at our
home is, on Christmas Eve• my
family and my aunts, uncle, and
cousins go to my grandma's house.
When we get there, we help set the
table then we eat the Christmas
dinner.
After we are done supper, we
wait awhile and open the presents.
1 get some from my aunt and some
form my mom and some from my
grandma.
I usually get an a chocolate letter
from my grandma or my mom and
dad. We would usually go back to
our house at 10 or 10;30.
On Christmas Day we go to
church in the morning. After church
we go home and our Uncle Ralph
and Aunt Jenny come and give us a
present.

Dancing through the show in a
one horse open sleigh." Oh, hi I'm
here to ,tell your about my
Christmas traditions. Hmm! well
my .very favorite tradition is when
we go to my Grandma's and
Grandpa's house and my Grandpa
hitches up the sleigh and we go to
the bush at the back of the field, and
cook stew over the fire.
Another favorite tradition of mine
is when we go out to my
Grandparent's house and visit with
all of my family and open presents
and eat the best food in tho'wholc
wide world.
One more tradition' I have of my
own, is eficry Christmas morning
I'm the very first one up and I'm
not allowed to open my present
until everyone else is awake. Boy
does that boil my pot! But the wait
is worth it. Well that's all. I hope
yourhave some hristmas
traditions too. "Over the hills we go
laughing all the. way, Celebrating
Christmas in our own special way.
Michelle Carruthers, LCPS.
I'm dreaming of a White
Christmas. "Today it is the
McAdams' family Christmas
reunion. We always. have. it in
November on a Sunday and the
whole family gets' together.'
We also put up a nativity scene.
We call them pachyderms and set it
up by the patio door and we set
gifts in it until Christmas morning.
On New Ycar' Eve we stay up'
`til midnight and watch movies and
eat chips and pop. And some times
we invite people for the night.
On Christmas morning we cat
breakfast and then we open gifts.
Brian Dodge, LCPS
A couple of weeks before
Christmas my family and I go out
and get a tree from somewhere. We
take it home and decorate it.
Then when it becomes time to
have the family get together with
everyone we go out and buy a
turkey or a chicken and cook it
with all the other. things that go
with it. •
When it is Christmas Eve, before
we go to bed, we all get to open
one present from under the tree.
When we wake up Christmas Day
we go to my grandma's for break-
fast and then go to my other
grandma's for supper.
Darlene Aitchison, LCPS.
