Turkey the Romanian way;
The Romanian way of cooking a
Chrisunas turkey is easy. First you
have to catch a bird. Then you take
all, the feathers off it. Then you put
some spinach and rice in it so
people will like it. Then yo'., take
the turkey and put it in the oven,
then put the oven to about 200 or
300 degrees, so it will be really
crispy. Then in one hour or so turn
the oven off and take the turkey
out, then put it on a plate on the
table. Then cat it. Alice Ionesca,

"Jingle .Bells!, Jingle Bells!,
Jingle all the way!" Ycah! It's
almost Christmas and my family is
looking forward to all the Christmas
traditions we share.
One of my favorite traditions is
decorating the Christmas tree. But
last year we broke our tradition, we
got an artificial one. Everyone was
disappointed. Each year we put
popcorn on our tree ( if my brol'her
doesn't eat it all first!). We have
the most teddy bears and Santa
Clauses you've ever, ever seen.
After all that 1,ye look forward to
putting on the angel, but me and
my brother always fight about
who's going to put it on. Aftcr all
the arguing, my mom usually does
it
•
At Christmas time we usually put
up the Christmas tree and turn on
the lights. That's what we do
before.
Soon when it's Christmas day we
.pile into the van and go to church.
After church we stay home and
have lots of fun. We take out Bible
Trivia and play one game.
After; we open presents: We play •
With them for the rest of the day.
After Christmas we go to
Grandpa's house and celebrate with
everyone. We have a big supper.
Then we watch a movie.

My family Christmas starts out by
driving to Kitchener to my uncle
Mark's place. Then we get to know
everybody again.
We eat turkey, mashed potatoes
and other things. Then we open our
presents, in the livingroorn where
the tree is. Jeff Poll, Gr. 5, Brook-
. side.
'Another one of my favorite
traditions is the advent calendars we
get each year. My brother and 1
can't wait until the first day of
December so we can open it up and
eat the chocolates.
Onc of my favorite traditions is
the Christmas parties. We arc very
lucky because we have three parties
and lots of food'to eat. After eating
we get to open presents. (Yeah!).
So now you see why my family
and I look so. forward to Christmas
and all the traditions we share.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New
Year! Janice Eadie, LOPS.
Tradition at my.h use is buying
presents and wrapping presents.
Then we put up our tree and put
presents under our tree.
We also have a cousin's
Christmas before Christmas.
On Christmas Eve we go to our"
grandpa's house and open presents.
On Christmas Day we go to
church. When we get home we will
open more presents.

My family usually. opens our gifts
on Christmas morning at our house.
Then we go to my grandpa and
grandma's house to open gifts
there. ►
We have Christmas dinner with
them. Every year my grandma
makes jelly-jigglcrs.
My brother and sisters and I open
our . stockings the day after
Christmas. Melissa Taggart, Gr. 5,
BrookSide.
At my house at Chrisunas we
open our presents once everyone is
up. If we get up and our parents are
still asleep, then we open our stock-
ings.
After all the presents are opened,
we get all bundled up and go to our
grandma's and grandpa's house.
Our grandpa has a snowblower and
he makes a big hill of snow for us
to play in. Once we're done playing
then we come inside to cat. .
Our aunts and uncles come too,
• so sometimes we. cat at a tiny table
of our own:
Then we open presents at our
grandma's house.
After everything is done then
everyone gots home. Sara Mac

traditions
Christmas can be a lot of fun.
Here are three traditions at the
Archer house.
Onc of our traditions is that we
Can't open our presents until all of
us are, up, but we can open. our
stockings.
After we have opened our stock-
ings and presents, we go to our
grandparents' houses. We usually
have turkey with the whole
family.
Another tradition is that We have
advent calendars which grandma
gives us. Last year 0 sneaky brother
of mane ate almost all the
chocolates in everybody's calendar.

HO! HO! 4H0! Merry Christmas,
it's December again.'.Time to get
those warm mitts and boots. Bundle
up! Hi this is Amy Knechtcl
speaking and I would like to share
some Christmas traditions at the
Knechtel household.
Every year we put up two
Christmas trees. We have one tree
that we put red lights on and the
other tree we put white lights on.
We decorate them up with or-'.
naments of every shape and size:
When we're done decorating we
take a picture of the- tree or a pic-
ture of one of us kids putting an
.ornament on the tree.
Another one of our Christnias
traditions is that every Christmas
we celebrate a Knechtel Christmas
and we have a big turkey dinner.
The next day we celebrate our
Kniphel Christmas. That night we
travel home ready to start the new '
year.
Onc other special family tradition
is that every year we go down to
the post office and hang our
decorations that we made on the
tree. My Mom and Dad are in
charge of bringing the hot chocolate
home and making it. That means
when we get down there Laura and
I have to go around and serve hot
chocolate: •
These arc some of the Knechtel
traditions. We have many more but
1 just don't have time to write them
all down on paper. Maybe next year
I will put some more of the Knech-
tel traditions in the paper.
