Families have varied traditions
Hiusser traditions
The Hiusser family has many
traditions: here are sorne of them.
Every Christmas I always wake
everybody up at six o'clock in the
morning, and when everybody is
awake, we make something to cat,
like turkey or chicken for breakfast.
Then, we go into the living room,
and open our presents. We get lots
of things, like figurines of Ninja
Turtles and Barbie Dolls.
And then we drive to Woodstock
to my Grandma's house. We have
another meal at my Grandma's. By
the end of the day, we arc really
stuffed.
After we open our presents, it's
about eight o'clock. So we come
home.
When we get home, we play with
our toys and off to bed.
, The Hiusser family has lots of
'Christmas traditions that we look
forward to every year. I hope
everybody has a Mcrry Christmas!
Jamie, LCPS.
Dickie family traditions
Thanks, for the. CD player, Dad! It
is my favorite present. Now all 1
have to do is get more CD's for it.
there's one more present under the
tree. It's yours, Mom! Open it!
At Christmas time our family
shares many traditions and one of
my favorites is opening presents.
"Yumm...This turkey is really
good, Aunt Donna!" "Thanks,
Shea." "Yeah, it's really 'good,
Mont", said cousin Curtis. Another,
family tradition is getting together
with our relatives.
Away in a manger, no place fora
bed. If you are wondering what I
am doing, I'm practicing for the
Church Christmas Concert. I have
to •sing two songs,. I am looking
forward to it. I go tochurch on
Christmas Day. There is no Sunday
School. but we celebrate Jesus'
birthday:
My Grandpa always makes each
'grandchild a special gift every
Christmas. One year I received a
spinning top, a' dancing man, a
miniature violin and last year a
dinosaur bank. I wonder what
treasure is in store for me this year.
I can hardly wait.
When h think of Christmas I get
warm feelings of togetherness and,
sharing...all part of our family
traditions: Shea Dickie, Grade 5,

Eadie Christmas traditions
I can't wait until Christmas to do
all the family traditions. How about
I tell you about a couple of them.
The first one is we always have a
fake tree that we decorate. Near the
side door is where we put the
Christmas tree. We decorate the
• tree' with angels, bells, Santa's and
wreathes. Some decorations are
homemade that my mom and my
sister, Erin made. That's why I
enjoy decorating the tree.
Every year mom puts up the light
onour front lawn. We mostly have
green lights.. We have lights over
the door and the fireplace. I like to
look at the lights on our house.
On Christmas Day we have the
MacKenzie Christmas. Sometimes
we go to Grandmas' house and
sometimes Mom has it. This year
Mom is going to have it. Every
year we snowmobile with rhy
cousins.
At the Eadie Christmas we mostly
play floor hockey. All the first
cousins come. Sometimes they put
something funny under the chair
like boxers. The person who sits on
the seat has to wear them for the
rest of the day. That's why I like
the Eadie Christmas.
These are some of my family's
Christmas traditions. I hope you
have some too. Tim Eadie, LCPS.
.Johnston' Christmas traditions
Driving, through the snow, in our
navy, blue Chrysler, over the hills
we go laughing all the way ha, ha,
ha.
There is so- much excitement at
Christmas. 'Every year our family
'celebrates Christmas in a special
way. Christmas Eve is my favorite
time of the year, other, then my
birthday.
On' December 24th, we always go
to my grandma's and we open some
presents, not. all, but some. I ,love
going there because .we always seat
goose and my aunt comes. We only
see her and my cousins a few times
a year.
Each year I: look forward to
Christmas and our family traditions.
I hope you have a Merry Christmas
too! Kyle Johnston, LCPS.
Mali traditions .
Every Christmas we get a real
tree in about the first week of
December. We usually put the tee
up and decorate it together with my
family. We collect ornaments from
church or some ornaments are crafts
we make.
Every Christmas we exchange
Christmas presents with • both
families.
We don't see my dad's side of
the family at Christmas that much.
• They live in Texas, but every year
at Christmas we have a family
gathering with' my mom's side of
the. family. The gathering usually,
happens on Christmas Day. We
have lunch there and some people
stay for supper:
On Christmas Eve we get 10 open
one present' each. We're not sup-
pose to go down stairs until six or
seven, sometimes even later but we
usually do.
Michael Mali, LCPS.
Humphrey traditions
Jingle bells, Jiggle bells, jingle all
the way. Arc you ready to sing
some Christmas Carols? I am.
Here are some Traditions we do
with the Humphrey family.
Every year we always have a
turkey dinner supper at my house or
at one of our relatives. I like that
one because we get to see all of our
relatives that we haven't seen in a
long time.
Can you guess what my second
favorite is'?
• If you guessed finding some
presents you were right. I like fin-
ding some presents because it takes
us a lot longer to find them.
I hope you enjoyed reading about
our family traditions. Ashley
Humphrey, LCPS.
Christmas with the Pritchards
Everybody in the Pritchard family
loves Christmas. I would like to,
share some of our traditions. •
On Christmas Day we always go
to my Grandma's house for supper.
When we are finished we'•go snow-
mobiling. It is fun.
We always put up lights inside
the windows. They are bright.
Another tradition •is we always
decorate a tree. Sometimes we buy
two Advent calendars. The
chocolate is good. I' always get the
onc'on the 17th because it is my
birthday.
Those are some of our traditions
in our family. Matthew Pritchard,
LCPS.
'Kugler traditions ,
What my family and I. do on
Christmas Eve is we get a' parcel
from Germany and open it. It usual-
ly has lots of chocolates in it.
After having a feast of salads for
supper we open, the gifts that came
in the parcel and sing carols. Even-
tually we go to sleep. The next
morning we wake up and call Gel. -
many and say thank you for the
parcel.Then we eat breakfast. .
After that we go into the
livingroom and open our presents:
After I play with my gifts, we have
lunch.
At 1 o'clock my mom starts
making supper. At 5 o'clock supper
is ready. We eat lots of food, After
supper we go to bed: This is my
story of the Kuglers Christmas.
William Kugler, LCPS.,
