Christmas meeting on Dec. 5, at the
home of Mrs. Sandy McCharles of

The Christmas meeting of the
Lucknow Presbyterian Women's
Missionary Society started with a
bountiful pot luck dinner at the
church on Dec. 7.
President • Shirley Hawthorne
welcomed everyone and .opened
with a reading'A Christmas Gift'.
The worship service was taken from
the Glad Tidings with scripture
readings by Maudie. Fisher, Peggy
Henderson and Elleda Laidlaw.
The rolicall was answered with
Christmas verses, poems and stories
and Christmas card to he sent to
shut -nos.
Reports were given by the
secretary, treasurer, historian, Glad.
Tidings representative, card com-
mittee, hale and 'social committee
and in memoriam. All reported a
very successful year.
Donations will he sent . to the
Woinen's House of Bruce County
and the Salvation Army. The
money received from collection of
Knechtel tapes will be used to buy
something needed in the church.

Village is looking festive
It is a reai pleasure to walk or
Jrivc around the town in the
Jyening to see all the light displays
and many decorations on the
houses. Lucknow can be proud of
its appearance.
Sympathy is extended to Mary
Lavis and other members of the
family in the passing of Harry.
Lavis in Wingham Hospital on Dec.

Marian Zinn has returned home
from a month long trip. She spent
five days in Fiji and the remainder
of the time on a tour of New
Zealand. It was spring there and the
gardens and parks of both islands
were a joy to behold.
Fred and Anne Lorce of Ayr
spent the weekend with Austin and
Mildred Loree.
Congratulations to Jinn wid Susan
McNaughton who celebrated their
60th wedding anniversary on Sun-
day, Dec. 11. Over 80 friends and
relatives joined them at a come and
go tea at the Legion. The date of
the anniversary is not until Jan. 18
but they were afraid the weather

the Drop in Centre last week.

low lady Grace Gibson; • high man

In a recent letter to Ilene Greer
from Mary Jung (Chin), she asks
that her family he remembered to
their many acquaintances in Luck -
now. Mary is still teaching part
time in Philadelphia.
Winners at the shoot party spon-
sored by the St. Helens WI last
week were Caroline Menary, Nor-
ma Raynard, Jim Coultes, Ross
Errington, Ross Taylor had the
most shoots.
Jean Farrish was the lucky winner of the annual $100 shopping
spree sponsored by the Lucknow and District Kinettes. Jean
elected to spend her winnings at 1Lucknow Village Market,
Finlay's and the Mayfair. Kinette Lynn McDonagh made the
