Haldenby relatives frorn here
attended the wedding reception at
Lucknow on Saturday evening for
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Irwin who were
married in Mexico on Nov. 10.
The WMF of the Presbyterian
Church conducted the worship
service on Sunday morning as their
minister was away.
The Bushell family supplied the
special music and the Gowan
family led in the third Sunday in
the Advent service.
Myrtle Percy and Erlma Haldenby
attended the Christmas party at
• Maple Breezes, Lucknow, and
visited with Myrtle's sister, Olive
Irwin and other residents on
Thursday evening.
This community extends its sym-
pathy to the Park family in the
recent passing of her father.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stanley of St.
Thomas visited on Saturday at the
home their aunt Myrtle Percy.
Nina McDonald, of Ripley, and
Bessie Maulden, of here, went on
Wednesday to Paris, Ontario on the

bus trip. After dinner they enjoyed
a musical program by the Walter's
family.
We extend sympathy to the
family and relatives of the late
Clayton'Nicholson who was born in
our village. His funeral was on
Thursday at Ripley.`He was a son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Nicholson.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott of Ripley
were supper guests with Edna and
May Boyle on Friday evening.
Some from here attended the
Ripley Senior Citizens Christmas
dinner on Friday.

formerly of here (con. 10), who
celebrated their 50th wedding an-
niversary on Saturday, Dec. 3 at
London where a.family dinner was
held followed by a reception at
their home.
CGIT vesper service based
on how .dreams come true
Have a Dream Come True was
the theme of the 1994 National
CGIT Vesper Service held recently
at Lucknow United Church. The
organist was Karl Morrison and the
church Choir led the Christmas
carols sung through the service.
. Alesha Moffat was the service
leader.
Living in the Darkness .had the
lighting of five candles with scrip-
' ture readings and newspaper head -
,lines my Melinda Donnan, Jaime
Jones and Carrie Moffat. Karen
Spanswick sang 0 corns, 0 come
Emmanuel.
Searching for the Light saw
dialogue with . girls and an angel
played by Margo Abbott, Valerie
Weber and Jessica Steffler. Stories
told by the Women of the World
were Refugee, Lisa' McKay,
Somalian Women, Lee Morrison,
South Kinloss

Sympathy goes to Mary.Lavi:s and
Jim and Mary and family on the
death of Harry Lavis.
Sympathy also goes out to Harold
and Mary Campbell on the death of
Marion's brother, Andy Hamilton.
This is a sad time also for the
Dickie family. Jerome ,Malleck, a
nephew of Ira and Elizabeth Dickie,
passed away in London. William
Dickie was at the visitation at the
funeral home in Kitchener on
Friday afternoon and Ira and
Elizabeth attended the funeral mass
Saturday morning at Our Lady of
Lourdes Roman Catholic Church.
Children are out of school this
weekend for Christmas holidays. I
want to take this lime to wish
everyone a safe and happy.
Christmas. There arc so many ac-
tivities going on at this time of year
so may we all drive carefully when
attending thorn. May we remember
the sick and shut-ins this Christmas
as they do so . enjoy having com-
pany.

teller, Amy Austin told a modern
day story of one- person's dream
come true for her school.
Spreading the Light had the.
lighting of five more candles as
each newspaper headline was reread '
followed by helpful ideas of what
we can do to make our dreams
come true for a better world.
Readers were Melinda. Donnan,
Kim Harper and Karen Spanswiek.
An offering was taken for the
National CGIT Association. Former
CGIT women were invited to light •
a candle with the CGIT group at,
the close of the service.
Enjoy Christmas concert
We send get well wishes to Mar-
jorie Thompson who is in Univer-
sity Hospital, London, having knee
surgery. •
A good crowd enjoyed the concert
at St. Andrew's Sunday afternoon
by the Sunday Schools of St.
Andrew's and Knox Presbyterian.
John and Marlene Collins, Dawn,
Katie and Jonathan had supper with
Kay Collins on Sunday.
Mary Ann Kukoly entertained
Don and Anne McCosh, Marj
Thompson, Bert Thompson and
Kay Collins for dinner Friday
evening. '

Burgstaller in Barrie for the

Kincardine this weekend,
Doris and Oracn Rock and Donal -
da Pollard had supper on Thursday
with Bette McLeod.
Congratulations to Beverley Smith
on the success of her book, "Figure
Skating --A Celebration." She .Was
in Kincardine on Saturday signing
her book, on the Dini Petty show
on Monday and Canada A.M. on
Tuesday. Beverley is the daughter
of Charlie and Edith Smith and is a
Sports writer for the Toronto Globe
and Mail.
