High winds and freezing rain on
Nov. 25 caused the St. Augustine
area to be without hydro for almost
30 hours. Trees, branches and limbs
blocked driveways and paths. Hydro
went off around 6 p.m. Sunday and
was restored Monday evening
around 11:30 p.m.
Winners at the turkey bingo at St.
Augustine were Jim Finlcon, Leona
Boyle, Bradley Hickey, Eugene
Fenton, Carol Nivins, Alvin Moran,
Donna Curran, Kelly McNce,
Doreen Mathews, and Stephen
Tiffin. Share the wealth winners
were Sybil Straker. Cindy Fenton
and Kevin Hallahan shared the full
card share the wealth. The door
prize was won by Aileen Leddy and
the 85.00 free bingo was won by
Connie Black.
Students at Brookside and'
Kingsbridge schools received their
student achievement forms for the
first three months of the school
year. Parent teacher conferences
were held and students enjoyed a
P.D. holiday on Dec. 2.
Jane Whaling, principal. at St.
Josephs' Roman Catholic Separate
School at Kingsbridge. since Sep-
tember 1993, has accepted the
position as superintendent of
education with the Grey -Bruce
Roman Catholic School Board,
Hanover. She will be leaving
Kingsbridge on Dec. 16. A new
principal will be hired to start on
Jan. 2.
They came from far and wide to
enjoy the old tyme dance at the
Senior Centre on Friday with music
supplied by the Country Ramblers.
Square dance caller was Lois
Hodgins, of the Exeter area.
Area residents enjoyed the CNIB
Christmas dinner and prigram held
at the Seaforth Legion Hall on
Saturday. Bob Heywood with his
accordion and keyboard entertained
and led in Christmas Carol singing.
Many from the Dungannon and
DUNGANNON
Kingsbridge area enjoyed a
delicious turkey dinner with all the
trimmings at" the Knights of Colum-
bus Hall on Sunday, sponsored by
St. Vincent de Paul store. Guest
were welcomed at the door by
Santa and given candy canes. A
social hour followed the dinner by
.singing Christmas Carols. Many
draws 'were made.
David and Dorothy Bere and
family visited on the weekend in
London with family "members.
Penny Hodges and daughters
Sherri and Tanya attended the "at
home" christening of Dakin son of
Annette (Hodges) and Glen Lance
in London on Nov. 27..
A. J. Sherwood visited Olive
Blake at St. Luke's Place,
Cambridge recently. While there, he
discovered a former RCAF buddy,
Phil Carter, residing in the same
residence.
Dungannon Agriculture Society
hosted 16 tables of euchre at Satur-
day's tournament. First prize team
Was Marie Park and Lois Cunnin-
gham, in second place was Betty
and Frank Thompson, with Judy
Draper and Moe Millian were third.
Clarence Dougherty and Tom Pfief-
fer shared the wealth.
Nine tables of euchre were in
play at the Dungannon Senior
Citizen Centre on Nov. 30. Winners
were Donna Hayden, Erma Crich,
Carman Pollock and Fred Crawford
with Tom Young receiving
honorable mention. Members
celebrating November birthdays
were Teresa Courtney, Deloris
Culbert, Lois Haggitt and Harvey
Culbert.
The CGIT Vesper Service, under
the leadership of Mary Garriock
and Elizabeth Irvin, was presented
to a full house at Dungannon
United Church on Sunday morning.
Eleven uniformed girls took part in
the candle lighting ceremony.
Following worship, congregations
from the four -point Union Pastoral
Chargc, attended luncheon in the
church basement.
In lieu of a gift exchange at 'the
UCW potluck on Dec. 13 donations
will be accepted for the Huron
County Family Service Bureau.•
Hosts cookie exchange
Charlie and Mayme Wilkins were
recently at Larry and Janet Wilkins
for their daughter's birthday. The
next day Mayme had 19 of the
family at home for Laura's
-birthday. Barbara Wilkins of Bur-
ford and also a couple of friends
from Belleville were also in atten-
dance.

Shortly after, David Conley made it

Carruthers. • Leslie Morrison tallied
the team's last goal unassisted.
Mildmay scored midway througn
the third, but Lucknow successfully
held off the team to bring home the
