Interest in niche marketing and
alternative enterprises has increased
in recent years among both farm
and non-farm families. Many
farmers are looking for new ven•
-
tures to generate additional income
from their resources.
Farm families will profit from this
practical series of 10 business
management seminars coupled with
individual counselling sessions.
Participants will learn some of the
following: how to prepare a market
study, how to develop a business
plan, resources for starting a new
business, advertising alternatives,
effective selling techniques,
preparation of financial forecasts,
increased verbal and written com-
munication skills, develop human
resources plan.
The course will be held in the
winter months starting in.January in
a rotation of three different areas in
Walkerton, Paisley and Kincardine.
The individual counselling ses-
sions reinforce what was taught in
the workshops. The counsellor will
assist each family enterprise, accor-
•'ng to its uniqueness.
