OBITUARY
William Hugh Simpson
1922 - 1994
Williarn Hugh Simpson, a
Whitechurch arca farmer, died at
the Wingham and District Hospital,
on Nov. 24, 1994, in his 73rd. year.
He was a member of the Chalmers
Presbyterian Church, Whitechurch;
and a faithful member of the Luck -
now Legion Pipe Band.
Mr. Simpson, a son of the late
William D. and Elizabeth (Fe-
rguson) Sitnpson; was born on
March 13, 1922, in Culross
Township.
He is survived by his wifeMary
(Struthers), and dhildren arlene.
Henderson of Los Angeles, Califor-
nia; Murray and his (wife Kim
'Simpson of Whitechurch, and Jean
and hqr husband Marc. Sahli of
,Windsor; five grandchildren - Alex;
Adam and John Simpson, and Brian
and Nicole Sahli.
Mr. Simpson is also survived by
a sister, Mary and her husband Jim
Henderson of Lucknow; a brother
Douglas • and his wife Doreen
Simpson, of R.R. 2, Tecswatcr, and
a sister in law .Elsie Simpson, of
Toronto.- -
He was predeceased by a brother
Arthur, and a sister Murdcan. I. •
The funeral was held at • the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral.

Get well wishes to Megan
Last week's Sentinel had a picture
of Megan 1 rachsel presenting a
cheque to represenuitives of the
Children's Hospital oI Western
Ontario on behalf of the youth
bowlers. Megan is well acquainted
with that hospital, having made
several trips there. Last "Thursday
she underwent,surgery once again
so we wish her a speedy recovery
and hope she will be able ti return
to school in the New Year. •
Hopefully the storm Sunday dight
wasn't too hard on all the
decorations that the enthusiastic
children provided for .the com-
munity C'hrisunas tree on friday
evening in. front of the post office.
Congratulations to Bob and Isobel
Shepherd who celebrated their 40th
wedding anniversary on Saturday
evening with a large number of
friends at the Legion Hall. -

Laurie Pentland, of Dungannon, in
Australia and -the two travelled
together. Laurie has just completed
a 14 -month agricultural program
spending six months each on farms
in Ncw Zealand and Australia.

Bridesmaids were Debbie Sterner,
of R.R. 1, Wingham, Colleen
Conley of Lucknow, and Michelle
VanSickle of Sarnia. Flowergirl
was Melissa Taylor, of Lucknow,
who was accompanied by
ringbearer Chad Sterner of R.R.
11, Wingham. Dwayne's
groomsman was Tim Walden of
R.R. 2, Auburn. Ushers included
David Scott of Belgrave, Bruce

MacDonald of St.. Helens. Paul

Centre. The newlyweds
honeymooned in Ocher Rios,

Folks at Pinecrest gear
up for Christmas season
Christmas '94 got off to a good
start at Pinccrest with a session of
reminiscing on Christmases past on
Nov. 25. A number of the residents
shared their childhood experiences.
In several cases they, recalled that
.their dads had left to the Great War
prior to Christmas leaving behind a
mother with a number of little ones.
Today (Nov.30) there will be a
pot luck dinner at Pinccrest for
Helen Riegling, Erna McNall,
Marina Park and Helen MacLennan,
all employees who recnclty retired
from thc.home. The dinner starts at
6:30. Friends arc welcome.
• Many events are planned for the
coming season:, on Dec. '3, a 4-H
club will demonstrate china painting
for the residents; on Dec. 4 . a
Christmas dinner will be hold for
the residents and families; on the
Dec. 15 the Brownies will present a
program; on the..20th the Kinettes
will visit and sing carols; and on .
the 25th a special Christmas dinner
and presents will the order of the
day. New Year's eve is always a
special event at Pinccrest with a
sing song and balloons.
The general public is more, than
welcome to visit Pinccrest anytime..
