The Lucknow Sentinel, 1994-11-30, Page 13ificINTEE Panthers come up against stiff Walkerton opposition The Pee Wee B team played host to the Walkerton Larsons last Thursday night. Walkerton scored the only goal of the game half way through the second period. The home team kept the pressure on all through the game but couldn't get it past a hot Walkerton goalie. On Sunday the team travelled to Walkerton to play the Walkerton "RKS". Clint Gunter and Andrew Pickard took turns again in net for Lucknow. Walkerton scored. once in the first, once in the second , and i one more in the third when Lucknow pulled their goalie. Final score Walkerton 3, Lucknow 0. - The team coached by Jim Farrish, managed by Bob Gu'nter with Rod Havens in the •trainer's position. Int. girls win first game The Lucknow Intermediate girls hockey team won their first game this season against Wingham. In the first period, each line was scoring on their shift. Lines were juggled throughout the game and the score was still quite lopsided in the Lucknow victory. Travelling to Goderich on the weekend, the host team scored two quick goals in the second period before Jill Robertson tapped in a pass from Jessie Cook. The third period opened with a Goderich goal followed by Luck - now goals from Cook and Robertson, and an unassisted marker from Katherine Alton. Despite strong penalty -killing by Lucknow, Goderich managed to tally up two more to take the win. Mary Cox played well in the net. The team is showing great improvement this year. Novice A game full of action; Mann scores winning goal It was an action -packed, highly entertaining game last Saturday when• the Lucknow Novice A hosted Wallace. The first six minutes of the opening period saw Lucknow keeping the action in the Wallace end.. The offence paid off when Tyler Hamilton and Mark Hackett set up a perfect passing'play across the net to Bob Raymond who dumped it in.
