Panthers come up against
stiff Walkerton opposition
The Pee Wee B team played host
to the Walkerton Larsons last
Thursday night. Walkerton scored
the only goal of the game half way
through the second period. The
home team kept the pressure on all
through the game but couldn't get it
past a hot Walkerton goalie.
On Sunday the team travelled to
Walkerton to play the Walkerton
"RKS". Clint Gunter and Andrew
Pickard took turns again in net for
Lucknow.
Walkerton scored. once in the
first, once in the second , and i one
more in the third when Lucknow
pulled their goalie. Final score
Walkerton 3, Lucknow 0.
- The team coached by Jim Farrish,
managed by Bob Gu'nter with Rod
Havens in the •trainer's position.
Int. girls win first game
The Lucknow Intermediate girls
hockey team won their first game
this season against Wingham.
In the first period, each line was
scoring on their shift. Lines were
juggled throughout the game and
the score was still quite lopsided in
the Lucknow victory.
Travelling to Goderich on the
weekend, the host team scored two
quick goals in the second period
before Jill Robertson tapped in a
pass from Jessie Cook.
The third period opened with a
Goderich goal followed by Luck -
now goals from Cook and
Robertson, and an unassisted
marker from Katherine Alton.
Despite strong penalty -killing by
Lucknow, Goderich managed to
tally up two more to take the win.
Mary Cox played well in the net.
The team is showing great
improvement this year.
Novice A game full of action;
Mann scores winning goal
It was an action -packed, highly
entertaining game last Saturday
when• the Lucknow Novice A
hosted Wallace.
The first six minutes of the
opening period saw Lucknow
keeping the action in the Wallace
end.. The offence paid off when
Tyler Hamilton and Mark Hackett
set up a perfect passing'play across
the net to Bob Raymond who
dumped it in. Lucknow's second
goal came off the stick of James
Mann with assistance from Daniel
Drennan.
Although Lucknow continued to
test the Wallace defence and net -
