A former • Lucknow resident,
Gladys May Reed, died at Country
Road Lodge, R.R. 3, Lucknow, on
Oct. 24, 1994, in her 87th year.
She was a member of the Luck -
now United Church.

DcGruchy was born in Montreal,
Quebec, on Oct. 9, 1908 to James•
.and Edith (Murray) DcGruchy.
She is survived by 10 children:
Alvin Rced of St. Catharines,
Valerie Neuman of Calgary, Gayle
DcSantis of St. Catharines, Ingrid
and Raun Troyan of St. Catharines,
Watson Rced and friend Pat Davis
of St. Catharines,' Vickie and Ron
Dubciak of Thorald, Gladys Recd
of St. Catharines, Nancy and Joe
Perry of St. Catharines, Lloya and
Harold Nicholson of Lucknow, and
Penny and Ray LaPointe of Niagara
Falls.
Mrs. Reed is at survived by her
sister Edythe and her husband

She was predeceased by her hus-
band George, a brother Alex, and
two sisters Florence and Rita.
Visitation was at the MacKenzie
and McCreath Funeral Home, Luck -
now, where the service was held on
Oct. 27, with Rev. William Bres-
nahan officiating.
Flower bearers were Julie Pyke,
Debbie Nicholson and ' Andy
LaPointe.
Pallbearers .were Jeff Pyke, Lyle
McConncry, Doug Abrahms, Earl
Warren, Kyle LaPointe and Daryl
Reynolds.
Interment Greenhill Cemetery,
Lucknow.
Florence Marie Kirkpatrick
1914 - 1994
Florence Marie Kirkpatrick, of
Ripley, died at the Kincardine and
District Hospital, on Oct. 27, 1994,
at the age of 80.
She was a member of the Ripley.
United Church, the choir, UCW and
former member or the session. Mrs.
Kirkpatrick was a 50 -year member
of the Rebekah Lodge of which she
was past district deputy. She was
also past president of the Ripley
Hearts and a member of the Ripley
'Women's Institute.
The daughter of the late'John and
Catherine Ann (Nicholson) McInnis
was bom on May 5, 1914 in Luck -
now. .
She is survived by her sons Jack
and Lois Kirkpatrick of Kincardine,
and Bill Kirkpatrick. and Kerry
Farrell of Windsor and Detroit; a,
sister, Kay and Vic Hey of
Goderich, a nephew Paul and Carol
Hey of Seaforth; two grandchildren,
Jackie and Mark Ravelle of
Thornhill, and Kathy and Bill Elder
of Orangeville, as well as two great
grandchildren Corey. and Karly
Ravelle.
Mrs.,Kirkpatrick was predeceased
by her husband Jim in. 1984, and
two sisters, Mabel and Ena.
The funeral was conducted by
Rev, V. Wilkie at the MacKenzie
and McCreath Funeral Home,
Ripley, on Oct. 30.
Pallbearers were Vic Hey., Paul
Hey, Don Geddes, Don Quinn,
Mark Ravelle and Bill Elder.

Edmund Andrew Gardner
1911 - 1994
Edmund Andrew Gardner, of
Kitchener, died on Oct. 30, 1994, in
his 84th year,
Mr. Gardner was manager of
Pond's Drug Stores in Windsor for
25 years, and also worked with Big
V' i'Bryson's) and Cornett- Drug
Store (LaSalle). •
He L survived by his wife
Gertrude (Weese) Gardner, and
children' Robert and. wife Isabella,
Donald and 'wife Mary Lou, all or
Kitchener, and Douglas of Missis-
sauga. Mr. Gardner is also survived
by grandchildren Todd, Pamela,
David, Heather, Christopher and
Marisa.
Visitation was at the Westmount
Funeral Home, Kitchener, on Nov.
1, with a private family service held
on Nov. 2.
As expressions of sympathy,
donations to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation, the Kidney Foundation
or charity of one's choice would be
appreciated by., the family.
Laura P. McNeil
. Laura P. McNeil, of Marian Villa,
London, died at St. Joseph's Health
Care Centre, London, on. Oct. 27,
1994, in her 80th year.
The former Laura Pearl Marvin
was the beloved wife •of the late
Malcolm McNeil who predeceased
her in 19~78, . •
• Mrs. McNeil is survived' by her
children Betty .and Bob Johnston of
Kincardine, Margaret and Roy
Peterson of London, Crawford
McNeil of R.R. 2, Kent Bridge, and•
Shirley' McNeil of Southampton;
brother Don and Mary Martin of
Wingham; 12'grandchildren and 14
great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her
sisters Jean Martin, Mary Austin,
Robena Stewart and her brother Bill
Martin. •
Visitation was' at the McBurney
Funeral Home, W Ingham, where the.
funeral was conducted on Oct. 29,•
by Rev. J. Rea Grant:

George Russell Middleton
1912 - 1994
George Russell Middleton,
formerly of the 4th concession of
Kinloss Township, passed away at
Scarborough Grace Hospital, on
Oct. 20, 1994, after, a lengthy
illness. ' '
- Mr: Middleton was the elder son -
of the Tate Russell Middleton and
Lucy McCaul who farmed on Conc.
4 Kinloss t'or many years.
As a young man, he attended
Grey Ox School and later Lucknow
Continuation Schglol. Mr. Middleton
enjoyed hunting and fishing in the
area and later, in Toronto, he was
active in the construction industry
with Ontario Place and the Alaska
Highway being among his credits.
Mr. Middleton is survived by his
wife Madelaine, who resides at 35
Agincourt Drive, Agincourt, On-
tario; one son, Dr. William Mid-
dleton of Toronto; two daughters,
Kathy Whitten of . Agincourt and
Dorothy Truman of Milton; and
eight grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his
daughter Lucy in 1973 and his
brother Mearle of Burlington.
Funeral service was held in St.
John's Presbyterian Church, Toron-
to, on Oct. 22, followed by burial in
Resthaven Cemetery,

Edith Simpson was unable to at-
tend. Beryl MacDonald was'pianist.

Mrs. MacLennan gave a report of
the Thankoffering held in Trinity
United Church, ''when Dr. Allison
MacDonald spoke on The Canadian
Foods Grain Bank.
Erlma Haldenby, president of
' Maitland Presbyterial, was the guest
speaker. She spoke very fittingly
,about how different people can be
on the inside to their outward ap-
pearances. She stressed the impor-
tance of prayer and illustrated her
talks with a number of stories.
The Mission Study package
'Making ' the World Safe for
Children'• will be 'ordered for next
year's study. • .The 1995 church
calendars will be ordered with the
Sunday school looking after the sale
of them.
A social time followed the close
of the meeting.
