Florence M. Reed
1922 - 1994
Florence M. (Lawlor) Reed died
suddenly at her home in Goderich
oh Friday, Sept. 16, 19944 her
73rd year.
She was the bclo'ed wife of the
late William D. Recd; dear mother
of Patricia and her husband William
Thomson, of RR, 5, Wingham,
Lynda McNee of Dungannon, and
Marlene Williams of .Godcrich;
sister of Thelma McIntyre of Strat-
ford and Thomas Lawlor of
Auburn.
Mrs. Reed was predeceased by
son-in-law Kenneth McNee, sisters
Elsie Jones, Louie Seers, Pearl
Anderson and Hazel Smyth.
The funeral was conducted at the
McCallum & Palia Funeral Home,
Goderich on Sept. 18, with Rev.
Kathi Urbasik-Hindley officiating.
Interment Greenhill Cemetery.

Elizabeth Jane Crump
1902 - 1994
'Elizabeth Jane (Jean) Crump, of
Wingham, died at the Wingham and
District Hospital, on Sept. 24, 1994,
in her 93rd year.
The former Elizabeth Jane Towle
is survived by her children Harold
and Muriel Crump of Kitchener and
Bill and Rita Crump of Wingham;
daughter-in-law Shirley Crump of
Sarnia; four grandchildren and, four l
great grandchildren.
Mrs. Crump was predeceased by
her husband Frederick in 1947, a
son Sydney in 1988, two sisters and
six brothers.
Visitation was at the McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham, where the
funeral service will be held today
(Sept. 28) at 1:30 p.m. with Rev./
John P. Vaudry officiating.
Interment Greenhill Cemetery,
Lucknow.
Memorial donations to the Heart
and Stroke Foundation of Ontario
would be appreciated as expressions

Edwin Thomas Middlebrook
1918 - 1994
Edwin Thomas Middlebrook, a
farmer at R.R. 5, Lucknow, and
formerly of Inglewood, died at
Victoria -Hospital, London, on Sept.
21, 1994, in his 17th year.
He was a member of the South
Kinloss Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Middlebrook was born on
June 15, 1918 in Mallon, Ontario, a
son of the late Everard T. and Erma
(Culham) Middlebrook.
He is survived by three sisters:
Betty Johnson of Norval, Doreen
Martindale of Gilmour, and Mar-
jorie Day of Georgia; 10. nephews
and nieces.
The funeral .was held at the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral
Home. on Sept. 24, with Rev. Peg-
gy Kinsman officiating.
Pallbearers were Allan Johnston,'
Adam Johnson, Clark Middlebrook,
Clarence Ritchie, Don Ritchie and
Mac McInnes.
Interment South Kinloss Pres-
byterian Cemetery.
Phillips Alexander Menary
1913 - 1994
Phillips Alexander Menary, a
West Wawanosh .Township farmer,
died at the Wingham and District
Hospital on Sept. 24, 1994, in his
82nd year.
The son of the late William and
Jessie (Phillips) Menary was born
on Apr. 23, 1913 in Kincardine
Township.
- Mr. -Menary is survived by one
brother Clifford, of Lucknow, and
several nieces and. nephews.
He was predeceased by three
brothers: Vance, Livingston and
Hugh Menary, and a sister Louisa
Reid.

Fellowship hour preceded the
139th Nile United Church anniver-
sary on Sunday, with Rob Parr as
guest speaker. Special musical
selections were presented by
Sherilyn Ribey, on the French horn;
Jason Nakamura on the trumpet;
mother and daughter combo Joanne
and Kelly Durst, and the junior
choir consisting of nine girls with
assistance from Val Mallough and
Vicki Culbert.
Diane , • Hallahan, daughter of
Frank and Marion, was honored at
a bridal shower at the St. Augustine
Hall, on Sept. 15. She will be mar-
ried to Ken Millian on Oct: 1.
Agnes Van Osch, daughter of Joe
and Thelma, was showered with
best wishes and gifts on Sept. 23 at
the St, Joseph's parish hall. Agnes
will marry Ken Logtenbcrg on Oct.
1. Their bands of marriage were
published in both Dungannon
United Church and St. Joseph's
recently.

Dungannon and area .residents
were instrumental in swelling the
village of Blyth to a small city
during the recent Huron Pioneer
Thresher and Hobby Association's
33rd annual reunion. It' was a great
weekend with something for
everyone.
Support of local farmers was
evident in the antique tractor sec-
tion with the Hendriks brothers
operating the tractor pull. •
Don Nicholson was a delight as
he entertained with violin and guitar
music throughout the week.
The meals were a mammoth
preparation with several or-
ganizations involved; Gary
Courtney was involved with
cooking 180 dozen corn on the cob,
cooked by steam engine, and served
free of charge three evenings.
Ethel Isabelle Rutherford
1895 - 1994
Ethel Isabelle Rutherford, of
Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, a
former resident of West Wawanosh
Township, died on Sept. 16, 1994
in her 99th year. For many years
Mrs. Rutherford • was a music
teacher in the area. Shc was a
member ' of the Lucknow 'Pres-.
byterian Church.
The former Ethel MacPherson
was a daughter of the late William
E. and Isabel) (Webb) MacPherson,
and was born on Oct. 5, 1895 in
West Wawanosh Township.
On Aug. 17, 1921 she married
.William Rutherford, of West
Wawanosh Township, who
predeceased her.
She is survived by two sons:
Hugh and his wife Irene, of Sharbot
Lake, and Grant and his wife Shir-
ley, of Odessa; six grandchildren,
nine great grandchildren; a sister-in-
law Janet MacPherson of Lucknow,
and a daughter-in-law Linda
Rutherford of Silver Lake.
Mrs. Rutherford was predeceased
by two sons: MacPherson Allan
Rutherford (1949) and John D.
Rutherford (1992), and three
brothers Ewart (1978), Ross (1983)
and Gordon (1984).
The funeral was held at the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral
Home, Lucknow, on Sept. 18 with
Rev. Peggy' . Kinsman and Rev.
William Henderson officiating.
Larry MacPherson, .soloist was
accompanied by Donalda Moffat.
Pallbearers were Hugh' W. Ruther-
ford, Jr., Scott Rutherford, , Scan
Rutherford, Melvyn McMurter,
Shawn McMurtcr and Dean
McMurter. .
