South Kinloss WMS meeting was
held at the home of Wilma Clarke
on Wednesday evening, September
7.
President, Sharon MacDougall,
opened the meeting reading a poem..
The rollcall was an exchange of fait
prodiice with an attached Bible
verse.
Vera Schmidt gave the Bible
study. The prayer circle was • done
Eby Doris MacKinnon,, Ann Mac-
Dougall, and Marion Campbell.
Ruth Langen gave an interesting.
Study Book which included a video
on "Women in Crisis in Jamaica".
It showed the average wage . has
gone down, and there is less work
available. Forty per cent of the
children are under nourished. As it
is now, people want to get out of
there by getting a U.S. visa or a
Canadian visa. We wonder how
they live as their food prices are so
high. Twice as much as their
minimum wage.
We compare their problems with
the cut backs of hospital staff and
other parts of the work world across
Canada.
The curious remarks were said by
Ruth Langen. Three lovely hymns
were sung during the evening. Mary
Lavis gave the closing prayer and
cake and ice cream was served by
the directors Ruth and Vera.
