Nothing stolen during
break-in at Mid -Huron
•from page 1
There was a break-in on Tuesday
night at ' the landfill scale -house,
said Frank Postill in his
Supervisor's Report to the MHLS
board on June 9.
"There was quite a bit of damage
but there's nothing missing. The
,alarm didn't ring because they cut
the phone lines at the road," said
Postill.

The MHLS ' board amended, a
motion regarding the disposal of
refrigeration units at the landfill. All
refrigeration units, whether their
compressor has been removed or
not, are subject to a handling fee of
$25 per unit.
Representatives from the Ministry
of Energy and Environment will be
present at the August 11 MHLS
board meeting to discuss the
ministry's objectives and directions.
for the future. "They're trying to,
discourage communities that would
rather bury than recycle garbage to
make money," said Frank Postill,
Site Supervisor. "That's never been
our mandate," replied board mem-
ber Bill Teall, Town of Seaforth.
The MHLS .board will check
safety regulations to see whether a
proper safety boot for truck tires is
required when working underneath
the large vehicles. Currently landfill
workers braces the truck wheels
with several wooden blocks when
work is being done.
Health and Safety Procedures
The MHLS board has decided to
have a safety crew from the Town
of Goderich conduct inspections six
times a yearat the Mid -Huron
Landfill Site. A landfill employee
will also be appointed as a safety
'representative and report to the
board , on alternate months of the
inspections.
A statutory holiday policy and
policy for overtime ' for landfill
employees has' been. referred to Luc
Gagnon and Larry •McCabeof the
Town of Godcrich to develop.

base his models on the location but
construct it the way he would like
to see it.
"I'm able to express myself
without being hemmed in," he said.
He tries to model it as close as he
can to 1958 style and includes both
diesel and steam engines in his
yard.
He said 1958 was one of the last
years that both diesel and steam
engines operated at the same time.
"You try to model it as close as
you can," he said.
The G Gauge format of model
trains are designed to operate out-
doors and in Rev. Bresnahan's
interpretation, there is one track that
extends toward the back door of the
garage.
If he ever decides to, his rail road
could take passengers to other
places and times throughout his
back yard.
But for now, adding six more
buildings to his community will
leave him feeling his rail yard is
complete.
