Lucknow's Western Days enjoyed
good weather this year and many of
those taking in Saturday's activities,
who had forgotten the sunscreen,
were a little pink at the end of the
day.
Sheriff "Dick" kept busy on
Thursday and Friday throwing
various business people in jail. The
funds raised from the bail money
will be donated to Phase II of the
I arena project.

entered the best western costume
contest on Saturday morning. The
young cow pokes included Tim
Luchies, Megan Trachsel, Marcella
Kranenburg', Travis MacPherson,._

The beautiful voices of singers,
Paulette Lippert and Byron Ballagh,
wound up the entertainment for the
day.
Everyone involved is to be com-
mended for their tireless efforts in.
promoting this event. And. to those.
entertainers, so very capably as-
sisted by Shayne Donald with his
sound system, the Chamber of
Commerce says thanks!
Sheriff Dick took no pity on any business people last week,
during Lucknow's Western Days. Although Delores, from
Lucknow Cut and Curl, was dressed in western garb, the Sheriff
maintained she told him a dirty joke, so off she went to the
main street jail. Phyllis, from the Lucknow Sentinel, was
arrested for not dressing properly. Her excuse that she was
"with" child" went right over the tall, lanky lawman's head. (Pat
