ml of blood.
On May 4, the man was
observed driving the backhoe on
Campbell Street, Lucknow, and
was' stopped by 'OPP at 2:15
a.m.
He failed roadside screening
and breathalyser tests.
Tire tracks and damage to
lawns in 14 locations were
reported in Lucknow on May 4.
OPP suspect a small pickup
truck was driven across lawns at
four residences on Ross, Place
and Clyde Streets m addition to

diamonds, medical centre and
lawn bowling club.
• Several Bruce Township resi-

Two boxes from Concession 2
were bent up while six others "
were missing from their posts.
The victims were from both
Concession 2 and Concession 3
and ' all were, recovered in a
nearby creek. •
Gerald Wood of Huron Town-
ship was commended by OPP
for actions that could have lead
to the apprehension of criminals.
tie was working in his yard
when he heard a noise at his
• neighbor's home where he knew
no one was living at the time.
He checked the house and saw
the padlock on the front door
was hanging open by its chain
and the door was open.
There were no vehicles in the
driveway and' Wood called the
OPP.
He kept the cottage under
surveillance until police arrived
to discover a plumber and
another neighbor inside. They
were doing work for the cottage
owner.
Wood was commended for
watching out for his neighbors.
A good samaritan was
rewarded with the theft of his
car after picking up two female
hitchhikers on Highway 21.
Robert Robinson of Huron
Township gave the women a ride
on May 7. They told him they
did not have any money or
clothing.
He said he had some clothing
he could give them and took
them to his home.
When he came back 'from
looking for the clothing upstairs,
the women had taken money
• from his wallets which was in a
jacket, a case of beer and his
car.
At 8:12 p.m. an OPP officer
observed the vehicle at McNay's
General Store in Amberley.
One woman was arrested in
the vehicle and the other was
arrested behind the store.
Both have been charged with
theft under $1,000 and theft over
$1,000.
The identities of the two
women have not been confirmed.
After their first week of polic-
ing Kincardine, OPP have
noticed many motorists are not
wearing their seat belts.
Staff Sergeant Al Neville said,
"the law does direct you wear
your seat belts in town as well
as on the highways." •
He said people can still receive
head and neck injuries in acci-
dents at low speeds and children
can easily be thrown into a
windshield.
He is asking people to start
wearing their seatbelts before the.
officers start issuing fines.
