Richard Fee, director of Presbyterian, World Service and Development. In the morning service special music was provided by the junior choir and .Nancy Brown, and as well the senior choir sang at both morning and evening services. Rev. Bill Bresnahan was conduc- ting anniversary services at Dun- gannon on Sunday, so Micheline Montreuil of Goderich was the guest speaker in the Ur1ited Church. In the afternoon, members of the Sunday School enjoyed a party at the Willits' swimming pool. The ladies that attended the Wed- nesday morning Bible study and coffee break finished their program L.UCKNOW by Mildred Loree with a pot luck dinner last week. They showed their appreciation to long-time leader, Hilda Van. der Klippe with the presentation of a brief case,. Freda Maclnnes, Jack and Mac were in Detroit attending the funeral of Clifford A. Maclnnes on Apr. 21. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Burial took place in Parkview Cemetery. Donald Gammie, who is a civil engineering technology student at Fanshawe College, is spending his co-op work term until September at E.B.A. Engineering Consultants Ltd. of Edmonton, Alberta. This is Donald's second work term with this company, as he spent eight months in Edmonton last year, Donald is the son of Bryan and Vana Gammie, Lucknow . and the grandson of Ross and Grace Gam- mie, Lucknow and Ron and Ann Atkins, Kincardine. Jessie Chester has returned home. after 'spending the winter at the McCormack Home in London. Congratulations to Herbert McQuillin of the River Valley Apartments who celebrated his 94th birthday on May 3 and to Miss Annie Laidlaw of Maple Breezes. who will be 96 on May 6. Seven tables of shoot were in play at the Drop in Centre last week. Anna Dexter and Wilbur Brown were high winners, with Mary Lavis and Harold Gardner in low spots. Most shoots went to Richard Grant. Area Lions attend convention Ten Lucknow Lions, accompanied by their wives, attended the Lions 20th District ,,A9 convention in Tobermory in mid-April. The con- vention was hosted by the Ferndale/Lions Head Lions Club, and nearly all 16 clubs in the district were represented. One of the highlights of the con- vention was' the election of . Bob Osborne, of Shelburne, for governor 1994-95 and Dave Overboe, of Londesboro, as vice governor. Guest speaker at the Saturday evening banquet was Don McGee, Beware of young bikers Many public school aged children will .take to Lucknow streets on their bikes this Saturday. They are participating in the first Lucknow and District Kinettes' bike-a-thon. The. childrenwill start the 9 km bike-a-thon at Puddleducks and traverse village streets. Proceeds raised from this new event will be funnelled . towards Phase II of the arena. Arca motorists are asked to be on the lookout for these' young bikers. Three very, special prizes will. be presented to the top fund-raisers. All the bikers will be treated to hot dogs and refreshments after the, ride.
