Dungannon is like a whiter wonderlan
This morning, Monday, Jan. 10, is
a beautiful, winter wonderland,

Last week's severe winter storm,
with frigid temperatures, caused

getting home - no school - no
Seniors card party on Wednesday,
Jan. 5 and no monthly dance - all
meetings called off..
• Skiers and snowmobilers are
enjoying this old-fashioned winter,
with -20 degree celsius
temperatures.
David Errington, Nancy Hamilton
and Penny Hodges took advantage
of the Jan. 3 holiday and went
skiing at The Blue Mountain Ski
Resort at Collingwood. The slopes
were fairly busy as most university
and college students hadn't returned
to classes.
Brian and Jeannette Courtney and
family celebrated New year's on
Sunday, Jan, 2 invited guests were
his parents.Joe and Teresa Courtney
and' her sister, Annette Daley, Gail
and Elliott,.

The War Amps
and. Terry Hodges, returned to
Wilfrid Laurier University in
Waterloo on Jan, 3. Her sister Sher-
ri returned to Brock University at
St. Catherine's the following Mon-
day.
Tanya is working to obtain her,
Bachelor of Arts Degree while
Sherri is majoring in Sociology. .
Benson Shackleton returned to his
home here on Thursday, Jan. 6 after
a 25 day hospital stay. He had knee
surgery at the Grey and Bruce
Regional 'Health Centre, Owen
Sound, then transferred to the Win-
gharn and District Hospital. Wel-
come home Benson!
Robert Scott, who was tem-
porarily making his home with his
grandson Michael Scott was injured
in an automobile accident North of
Lucknow between Kinlough and
Kinloss when the vehicle spun on
black ice.
They were taken to Kincardine
Hospital. The driver, Michael had
x-rays, was treated and released.
Robert was admitted and later
transferred to Wingham and District
Hospital where he celebrated his

sudden death of his wife Corinne at
the Clinton Public Hospital on
Saturday, Jan. 8. (Funeral details

now, formerly Dungannon area, was
honored by family and friends on
the occasion of her 95th birthday

The funeral was held on Sunday,'
Jan. 9, from the MacKenzie and
McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley.
Wilfred and Marjorie Pentland
flew home to London last week
from Zepher Hills, Florida. Marjorie
was a patient in University Hospital
and now . is convalescing at the
home -of her daughter Norma in
Tillsonburg, along with Wilf.'
Rhena ' (Mrs. Benson) Pentland
also returned from Florida and ,is
receiving treatment at St. Joseph.'s
Hospital, London.
Jack Kennedy has returned home
from his mid -winter break.
Sally Wright is .visiting her
mother Margaret Norman at Bran-
don, Manitoba.
The Celebration of Baptism 'oc-
curred at Dungannon United Church
on Sunday, Jan. 9, when Micheline.
Montreuil illustrated the meaning of
baptism, to . the Sunday School
pupils, with her Jessica dolly.
The secretary Katherine McNee •
has asked that all informative
reports be submitted by Jan. 12, to
be included in the annual report.
Trinty Church is in need of a

Now didn't that feel like old
times when all that snow started
coming down. I .know the school.
children didn't mind the "snow
day", and I'm sure if some of the
adults were honest. they .were- en-
joying a`day of quiet. Thanks to all
the workers ,on the snow removal
equipment, and to ,their families for
the times the workers spent away
-from home during the holidays and
every day.

' Christmas gathering, on New Year's -
Day at the Purple Grove Centre. All

weekend in Toronto and took in a
hockey game. While they, were
away Jenny stayed with Danielle
Bannerman at Boiler Beach.
