BACKHOE SUITS
COMPACT TRACTOR
Massey-Ferguson's new MF
1017 backhoe for compact tractors
is designed for heavy work in areas
that are hard to reach.
Made for use with the MF 1030
and MF 1040 compact tractors, the
MF 1017's subframe mount allows
you to attach or detach the back-
hoe in minutes. Maximum digging
depth is eight feet. Digging depth
for a two -foot flat bottom is seven
feet, six inches.
The MF 1017 has an indepen-
dent hydraulic system with a 5.56
GPM PTO -mounted 2000 PSI
pump.
All digging functions are easily
controlled by two joystick levers.
Stabilizers are independently con-
trolled by a pair of single -spool
two-way valves.
An adjustable cushioned seat
positions the operator within safe
and comfortable reach of the con-
trol levers. A handrail and non-
skid steps provide a safe route for
getting on and off the backhoe,
and a foot rest and shielding keep
the operator's feet protected dur-
ing operation.
The digging buckets, available in
10, 12, 16, or 24 -inch widths,
feature a welded -on cutting edge
and teeth with replaceable tips.

TOTAL MIXED RATIONS
Roto -master feed mixers provide
total mixed rations.
The manufacturer claims that
Roto -master mixers use less
horsepower, mix more quickly,
and have more capacity per foot
than other mixers.
Eighty -pound bales are mixed
with no grinding. The rotor lifts
feed up to mixing augers so that
hay does not wedge under the bot-
tom auger. The three -chain drive
assembly is enclosed in an oil bath
for longer life.
