Floyd Willows, secretary -treasurer of the Perth Holstein Association, noted that this was the first time in the history of the event that no bulls were shown. Back in 1946, 210 head were shown, and 100 of these were bulls. Overall, said President Paul Er- win (Atwood), numbers were down by 30 head from last year. But in summing up this year's show, Judge James Walker (N alkerbrae Farms, Guelph) said that while numbers were down, quality was up. There were 38 ex- hibitors showing 146 head sired by 60 different bulls. A Puget Sound sheik sired 36 of the daughters shown, and A Hilltopper Warden sired 25 of the daughters shown. Judge Walker provided concise reasons for his choice of the top four or five animals in each class. Premier Breeder: Stonetown I=arms Ltd., St. Marys. Runner-up: Bobmur Farms, Listowel.
