Whelan, president of Geneagrex, held a conference with the press at the regional meeting of the Huron County Federation of Agriculture held recently in Clinton. Whelan, speaking on free trade, said "the U.S. was never a free trader and neither are we." RIDDELL OPENS PLOWING MATCH • s 'k'" The Ontario Minister of Agriculture and Food was on hand at the opening ceremony of the 1986 International Plowing Match in Hastings County. Future matches will receive support from the pro- vince in a different form as administrative responsibility for the IPM is shifted from the ministry to the plowmen's association over the next five years. The ministry will be providing $464,000 in grants and will continue to offer leadership development assistance to local plowing association committees as well as other support.
