2 THE RURAL VOICE
EDITOR'S DESK
Listening to our readers and our
advertisers is one of the pleasures
at the Rural Voice.
For example, many advertisers,
particularly our equipment
dealers, have indicated that they
would prefer their advertisement
placed in a special section with
other equipment dealers. Readers,
seriously interested in purchasing
equipment, have suggested that
advertisements be grouped
together so they can compare
quality, brands, and price. Thus,
"Calling All Farmers" was
created (starting on page 69).
Advertisers still have the option
of having a display ad in another
part of the magazine as well.
The Rural Voice is pleased to
announce the addition of Richard
McNamara as part of the News
Network. He will be gathering
stories from the Stratford area.
Richard is an ODHIC super-
visor and has been involved with
farming and the agricultural in-
dustry and is well-known in the
area. He has two news articles in
this issue and he's already com-
piled a list of events he would
like to cover next month. We
welcome Richard to The Rural
Voice.
This issue: Everyone has a dif-
ferent reason for preserving the
Bruce Peninsula the way it is —
the conservationists, to protect
the natural area; tourist operators
to promote their industry; and
many residents, to protect their
way of life. The federal and pro-
vincial governments are now
negotiating the future of the
Bruce as a possible site for a na-
tional park.
Andrew Dixon is back to tell
readers about schooling in a rural
community when he was young,
and there's a story on the best
way to sow fall wheat with fer-
tilizer. Plus, all the regular
features.
See you n xt month.
