CCAT students
sell trivia game
The Student Council at Centralia
College has taken on the challenge of
raising money for Camp London. In-
stead of chocolate bars or nuts, or
any of the usual items sold for fund
raising, the students have decided to
sell "Food for Thought," a trivia
game based on the agricultural food
system.
The game was devised in Ottawa by
a group of six women who combined
the craze for trivia and an interest in
the food system to concoct an educa-
tional and enjoyable game.
Paul Vander Molen of Tiara
Distributing, a CCAT graduate, ap-
proached the school with the idea of
marketing the game.
"Selling the game has a dual pur-
pose for us," says Norm Kerr, presi-
dent of the Student Council. "It helps
promote the industry we believe in
and it provides proceeds for a worth-
while organization, Camp London."
The menu of questions includes six
groups: agricultural, culinary -
gourmet, cultural -historical, com-
mercial, medicinal -nutritional, and
potluck.
Public relations officer for the Stu-
dent Council, Heather Cleghorn,
recommends the game as an enter-
taining way to teach 4-H members
and high school students more about
the agricultural and food system.
The length of the game can vary
depending on whether you want just
an "appetizer" or a "full course"
game.
"Food for Thought" can be pur-
chased by phoning the college
(228-6691, ext. 235). It costs $35, in-
cluding tax. All proceeds will be
donated to Camp London.DMT
