Board of Directors Meeting
of Huron/Bruce County
Thursday, August 15, 1985
Wingham Legion 7:00 p.m.
• BE IT RESOLVED that a letter be
sent to Jack Riddell stating our con-
cerns about the bureaucracy of
OMAF staff, and that a thorough
housecleaning be done starting with
the dismissal of Nancy Bardecki, and
Furthermore that when replacements
are made that persons with firsthand
knowledge and experience of present
agricultural conditions be considered,
and Furthermore that there be farmer
representation on the Task Force.
Motion Carried.
• BE IT RESOLVED that the
Ontario government set up and
revamp the Ontario Provincial Sav-
ings Corporation office and that it
become a lender in the agricultural
field at a decent rate for farmers and
small businessmen. Motion Carried.

• BE IT RESOLVED that this
meeting go on record as supporting
farmers in an attempt to circulate a
petition to secure 15 per cent of the
producers in any commodity that
wishes to secure a better marketing
system to return their costs of pro-
duction and to request that all levels
of the Federation of Agriculture also
support this action. Carried.
• BE IT RESOLVED that Bruce and
Huron County Federations of
Agriculture organize a meeting with
Federal Minister John Wise at the
closest place possible and that other
county federations be invited. Car-
ried. (Executives of both counties to
make plans.)
• BE IT RESOLVED THAT Bruce
and Huron counties jointly demand a
moratorium on farm foreclosures in
Ontario until the Farm Credit man-
date is finished and the debt review
boards are finished. Motion Carried.

• BE IT RESOLVED THAT a joint
committee of six members be struck
to investigate methods of petitioning
the Minister of Agriculture for the
establishment of a supply manage-
ment marketing system for hogs
and/or beef. Motion Carried.
Approximately 50 Directors at-
tended this meeting which commenc-
ed with a roast beef dinner served by
the Wingham Legion Ladies Aux-
iliary. ❑
