Gas livestock
water heater
Trojan Specialized Livestock
Equipment has introduced a new gas
livestock tank water heater, the 66B.
It runs on LP or natural gas. The
heavy steel unit stands 35" tall with a
8 1/2" diameter and weighs 49 lbs.
Designed with the user in mind, it can
be fitted to most steel, wood, or con-
crete tanks and is easy to install.
The burner's heater can be easily
removed, lighted, and reinserted into
the one-piece welded steel casing. The
unit's cover is designed to keep the
burner lighted on windy days. The
thermostat sensing bulb is conve-
niently located in a water -tight tube
alongside the heater, which prevents
the sensing bulb from being frozen in
place. The control, thermostat, and
burner can be removed easily for ser-
vicing.

Bacteriological &
serological diagnosis
Hope Laboratories Ltd. is a service
begun by Dr. Conrad Van Dijk to
develop quick and expert
bacteriological and serological
diagnosis as an adjunct to his
veterinary practice.
The laboratory developed as a ser-
vice to the poultry industry, but with
the addition of Dr. John Deen to the
veterinary service staff, as well as
John Partington, a microbiologist, to
head the laboratory services, the lab
has expanded to include swine farms
among its clients.
Hope Laboratories Ltd. also does
trials for affiliated industries at its
research facilities for both poultry
and swine. There is also a good supp-
ly of proven disinfectants, anti-
biotics, and vitamins available.
