WHAT'S NEW?
Silo loader installed under
existing tripod
Like the popular three -cable
VolumasterT Butler Livestock
Systems' new Single Cable
Volumaster silo unloader is designed
for high capacity, low maintenance,
and easy servicing. The major dif-
ference is that it can be installed
under an existing tripod.
A new feature on the Single Cable
Volumaster is a torque arm made of
2 -inch square steel tubing with
polyethelene support pads and rollers
that allow it to "telescope," a design
that helps prevent sticking and bin-
ding.
Converting the unloader to the
raise position is a five minute, one-
man job. By lowering the machine to
the silage surface, repositioning the
three cables on the raising bolts, and
realigning the torque arm and
discharge chute, the unloader is made
ready for hoisting. It can then be rais-
ed to the top of the tripod for silo fill-
ing.
A standard feature on the new
Volumaster is a 950 rpm impeller with
an adjustable shear plate. This
feature reduces carry -by and
minimizes wear in the impeller hous-
ing. A deep -sided fiberglass discharge
chute channels air from the impeller
for increased throwing power.
All the components of the
Volumaster are designed for
minimum maintenance, and those
that do require routing servicing are
easy to get at.
Butler invented the ring drive
unloader and has refined it with
numerous design innovations. For
more information on the new Single
Cable unloader, contact your local

Reversable
heat pump
A source of home heating located
in your garden or buried under the
lawn? Sounds like science fiction. But
it's not a new idea — refrigerators
and air -conditioners have used the
principle for years. It's just recently
that the idea has been applied to
heating the home.
